MCA played at CBGB tonight. (Thanks CJ .... funny enough...... My friend called me 2 seconds after I read your PM) He played 1 song with John Joseph and the "fake" CRO-MAGS line up. It was a hardcore set and Yauch filled in nicely. The "psuedo" CRO-MAGS were alright, but nothing to rave about. Without Parris Mayhew and Harley Flannigan....it's not The CRO-MAGS. (For all you freaks...Yauch didn't shave and was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and a pair of chino's) I didn't recognize the song they played....nor did I tape it. The place was about 1/2 full....(read 100 people) Good time had by all....

While it is absolutely awesome that Yauch would pop in for a song with an old friend at CBGBs. If I lived in NYC, I would have been there if I could.

But on the flip side, it wasn't really anything that great. Yauch politely acknowledged the crowd, didn't say anything, wasn't particularly hi-lighted in the song (no solo or anything)...then quietly left the stage.

He probably could have just slipped on stage and no one may have even noticed it was him. (y)
