i'm sure i'm not the only one who does this; i find a song that i've never heard before, and i fall in love with it and i get obsessed with it and i'll listen to it over and over and over again, several times a day for about a week. then i'll stop.

currently, it's interstellar overdrive, by pink floyd

last one was made you look, by nas

i don't know what it is exactly, but i just get attached to them for a while.

do you people have any songs like this?

Modest Mouse - Float On
Sugababes - Push The Button
Roxy Music - Love Is the Drug
Radiohead - Karma Police.

I love it when you re-discover a song that you’ve always loved, that’s ‘Float On’ right now. The rest are just facking fab.

Made You Look is one of those rap songs that I could hear a billion times and it still doesn't fail to kick my ass everytime I hear it. Same with Jay Z's 99 Problems.

Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here is masterpiece. I'll never get tired of it.

I will never get tired of my favorite songs off of my Beatles' Abbey Road and White Album LPs.

The Stones' Sticky Fingers is another album I will never get sick of. Ever. But She Smiled Sweetly (off of their most underrated album, Between The Buttons) is incredibly beautiful, and is always in heavy rotation.

John Frusciante's Song To Sing When I'm Lonely is probably my favorite song of the last 5 years. I could listen to it 10 times in a row.

Bob Marley's No Woman No Cry is the most cliched choice of song to play of his, but it never fails to get at least one repeat everytime I put it on.

The Cars' Just What I needed is the feel good song of the century.

The Clash....I don't get sick of The Clash, period.

That's enough for now.

sleater-kinney - "jumpers"

eddie money - "baby hold on to me"

elvis costello - "welcome to the working week"

of montreal - "disconnect the dots"

"now that your picture’s in the paper being rhythmically admired"

Elvis Costello - "welcome to the working week", clocks in at under a minute and a half. Yet says more than 90% of anything I listen to. Especially the so-called punk genre.

I watched Godfather III last night, with all the opera and waltz music, at one point Vincent 'Vinnie' Mancini is in bed with the Don's daughter, Mary Corleone, which is of course a bad idea, but anyway the song they're listening to in 1979 is "Miracle Man" which fits perfect.

What a great album.

I went through this phase.

THe last few songs that I've been doing this with:

THe Clash - THe Magnificent Seven
Public Image Ltd. - Memories
BT - NEver Gonna Come Back Down
Depeche Mode - Enjoy The Silence

I used to listen to Vicious Battle Raps by DJ Format and MC Abdominal religiously.

Gang of Four's Damaged Goods is pretty much a perfect song. Easily the best to listen to while driving at fast speeds. When the guitar part kicks in, you can't help but going 20 MPH or so faster.

I've been listening to Wu Banga 101 by Ghostface and crew a lot recently. Love the beat.

Tom Waits Singapore I listen to often, mainly because it's on my CD with Franz Ferdinand.

Been listening to Mainland by the Real McKenzies quite a lot. Good shit.

And just today I found one that's likely be become my new favorite: Psyche-Out by Meat Beat Manifesto.

Drederick Tatum

I do this ALL THE TIME. I listened to REM's All the Right Friends every day on the way to work until I can't listen anymore.

Currently (and for some time now):

Sleater-Kinney - Rollercoaster
Weezer - Hash Pipe
NIN - Right Were It Belongs
Violent Femmes - Add it Up
Radiohead - No Surprises
Pink Floyd - Pigs
Le Tigre - Deceptacon
Four Lads - Istanbul (not Constantinople) and
Triplets of Belleville soundtrack - Pa Pa Pa Palavas

Most of the songs I repeatedly play have a catchy intro, and I generally listen to the intro a few times before I listen to the whole song. For example, the falling drumsticks in Rollercoaster, the waves and surf guitar in Pa Pa Pa Palavas, and whatever you call what they do at the beginning of Hash Pipe.

99 Problems is one for me.

Accidents by Alexisonfire is another one. EDIT: The version they did live here had Ian from the Fullblast singing Dallas' part because he was sick. Also, that was the last show Jesse did with the band before he had to leave.

For some reason I get totally obssessed with 80s rock ballads, or....whatever you want to call them. 80s songs.

for a long time it was Loverboy's "Workin' For the Weekend"

then it was Prince "Dirty Mind"

Michael Jackson "Beat It"

currently it's "Mr. Roboto" by Styx...I'm on the verge of a very interesting Styx obsession I fear....

oh I forgot

Devo - That's Good

and this song called "Red Alert" by some Star Trek band....my friends loved me for that one

right now i'm listening to that shakira song over and over. i don't know what it's called but you know the one. the lyrics are like "iiiiii'm on tonight, my hips don't lie and something something something shakira shakira shakira!".

not on purpose though. the woman across from me has the radio on and the station only plays like 5 songs. i'm keeping a tally of how many times that song comes on. i'm been here 2 hours, it's come on twice. and when it's not playing, she hums it. so yeah, i'll be listening to that song all summer.

Great Album sure, too bad Godfather part three sucks.... what a way to spoil a great story.. come out with part three 15 years later. Its a shame cuz Godfather 1 & 2 are phenomenal!!! I just had to get that out of my system!

I dunno if I've posted in this thread or not but the only song that comes to mind is Jay-Z's "99 Problems"

when I first heard it in October of 2003, I literally probably played it every single day at least 5 times a day for a year. no joke.
