Today I was assigned a project for school on censorship in the entertainment industry and, how America is no longer "the land of the free".Personally I think the only reason we are still considered free is because we have the right to say where not. Summer 2004 while I was trying to by the To the five boroughs cd I got carded. I asked the sales women if it was because of the parental advisory and she said " Yeah not just the language but, it has bad refrences twords the president." (MY mom had to show her liscence).So... we have the right to an opinon and, dont even get me started on MTV, and VH1 who I can no-longer watch because ever other sentence is cut. I can go on forever with this I was just wondering if you guys/girls have any stories/ opinons on censorship , (I'm supposed to ask at least 20 people for or aginst it.)

u got carded to buy TT5B? how old are you? Ive never been refused an album sale, Rated Rs movie yes, but never a cd with a parental advisory. i hate cencorship. people should be able to say whatever they want, regardless if its negative or positive.

I was 14 at the time ... almost 16 now but, It was so humiliating. I dont believe in the F.C.C at all. A kid by the age of 10 already knows most of the "BAD LANGUAGE" that gets censored anyway and if someone really doesnt want there kid to hear bad language monitor them better.They dont need to wreak it for everyone else.Its like the new Harry potter movie for instince parents were pissed there is a scene in which moaning Mertile sits on Harry's lap while he is taking a bath.They were saying my 8 year old was asking questions... thats why its PG- 13 if parents like you would just explain this stuff to your kid better to begin with we would'nt even need ratings. I mean what are they going to do in the next movie when Harry's cousin asked if Cedric was Harry's boyfriend rate it R... this country is losings its freedoms everyday...

Harry Potter was far too raunchy for lil kids. that dead chic is obviously trying to look at Harry's dick and so forth. I dont think id want my kid hearin Ron tell harry to 'piss off' and shit like that. the FCC is a crock of shit though.

I know and, there is things that isnt for kids but, thats a parents responsibility some 13 year olds arent mature enough... yet some 11 year olds are. Each child is diffrent and thats a parents responcibility not the F.C.C. to wreak it for some 12 year olds who are die hard fans and read the books and then there parents wont let them see it.
What if the Beasties had a song dedicated to George then I would be able to buy it? No way that is to fucked up.
F.C.C. = Fuck (r) Countries Children

hahaha, my 22 year old friend got carded for the System of a Down CD she bought. I asked the checkout girl "What, you fuckin' kiddin' me? What's with this shit, we can't listen to our dirty fuckin' lyrics in peace? Does the goddamn FCC know that I'll hear that shit other places? Fuck those cunts."

Did you know that early movies were pretty racy? The industry didn't get regulated until the late 30s I think. I've seen movies from before the Hayes code and there were inferences of unmarried people having sex and everything.
I'm not a prude and I want to watch TV that's made for an adult audience, but I think it's pretty surprising how sexual some of the prime time shows are on broadcast TV. They seem to still save the violence for 9 p.m. and later.

O.k. here is what I dont get... Bush can send people to Iraq which was suicide and he says they went on there oun, they had to because that sick loser would be calling a draft ASAP to try to impress daddy even more and yet there is a minute warning to watch a show like Nip/Tuck... and shows like Best week ever on Vh1 cant say "God damn". (Sorry for the weird exaples) LOL :p There is bigger problems in America then being gready and stealing gas... like The Constitution and Freedom of speach which is being taken more from us everday. Does anyone else agree?
