Actually, I think this thread references an interesting phenomenon.

My boyfriend is a decent looking guy. I mean, he's tall and skinny and his facial structure isn't perfect. Hell, I was friends with him for like 4 years and never even thought about dating him. But since we started dating and I fell in love with him he has become more attractive to me to the point where sometimes I look at him and think, my boyfriend is so cute.

That isn't to say that when I watch the hotties with a bunch of tattoos playing basketball in the park I don't admire their beauty. But I'd rather sleep with my boyfriend. Because I love him.
