UK peeps - Space Cadets

so no doubt, if you live in the UK you've heard about this show, right?

Is it just me, or does the whole premise just sound really cruel?

For non-UK people: the deal is, this is some new 'reality' show that's going to be starting here soon. The premise is, they have a bunch of people that they've told are going to be going into space, and they're flying them off to Kazhakstan for training. Except the whole thing is an elaborate hoax, and they're never actually leaving England, and some of the members of the group are 'moles'.

What they've done is screened a bunch of people who applied to be part of a new reality TV show, tested them all psychologically, and selected the people who show the most 'susceptibility to suggestion'. In other words, the least bright and most gullible. Then, they got permission from their family and/or friends to play this big joke on them (hey! thanks for letting me be made a fool of in front of the entire country, Mom!).

I mean, is it just me? Or is there something really twisted about that, and not in a good way?

the idea to the show sounds kinda funny. Jay Leno did something like that. He would fly 2 people to someplace in the world and they would have to guess where they were. Like he flew some people to a beach in Florida, and the people thought they were in Mexico or somethin.

i would have had a problem with it if they didn't ask permission from their friends/family - i can imagine when it's revealed it's a whole load of bullshit that they'll get very angry and then be like ooooh, hold up, but my parents said i'd be COOL with that? ha!
johnny looked quite gutted when they all got on the plane though.. i wonder if that was genuine?
also i like the actor charlie. funny guy. the other two you can tell are actors cos they are constantly ACTING and trying to be the centre of attention - oooh look at me casting agent! what was that ginger doing in the lift blatantly signalling to the hidden camera?! fool!
