On what exactly. I use IE mainly, but mozilla sometimes, and the mozilla favourites list is atrocious compared to IEs. Fuck that shit.
i just like all the cool features... the customizing, the search for a word thingy... others too

Are you talking about the mozilla browser or firefox? two separate entities. I find IE's favorites list worse off that firefoxs. With FF (and ie 7) you can have a live bookmark aka rss feed.

Everyday I use:

IE7 Beta (actually not that bad. it actually has support for png!!!)
FF 1.5
Maxthon
Opera
Flock

Tabbed browsing is so over-hyped! OMG!! look little tabs!! at the top of my screen! Just like those little tabs I used to have at the bottom of my screen! OMG!!! AWESOME!!!

90% of people who bash IE don't even know why they're bashing IE

You will ALL be using IE7

well the bottom of my screen is already full of tabs and other things (outlook, usually a few word documents, excel, media player and all the other icon things like soulseek and msn) so i don't have room for a whole bunch of IE tabs down the bottom, i really enjoy having the option of just having one WINDOW open with lots of tabs within the window.

i enjoy clicking open in new tab and letting the page load while continuing to read the page i am on.

i like the way it downloads things. all in that one window. not a whole set of separate dialogue box thingys.

i'm not even bashing IE, i'm just saying, i think firefox kicks its ass. :)

When I upgraded my old mac's operating system, I got something called Safari. It's faster and the typeface is real pretty.

Right click on your taskbar (the bottom of your screen -> properties -> check "group similar taskbar items"

I really don't care either way, but I kinda feel that IE gets a lot of bad press just for the sake of it. They're just web browsers, they both do pretty much the same thing. IE has some security issues, but give it time and they will find them in FireFox. Be even the slightest bit intelligent and the security shouldn't even be a problem.

Anyway, each to their own

Sorry for going all qdrop on u I'm just bored. I wasn't really trying to single you out, I've heard plenty of other people who say "it's got tabbed browsing!" when asked whats so good about firefox, and it's as if that's the be all and end all and nothing else matters.

more than aware of this option thank you. i like to see the tabs laid out and know what's open without clicking on a particular tab and scrolling through what is open.

you know that using the tabs in firefox means you are only loading up firefox once, and not a whole bunch of firefoxes (is that making sense, i'm not down with computer lingo, but as far as i am aware, using tabs in firefox uses um, well cpu usage is lower than if i were to open a whole bunch of IE windows)

shift + click

also aware of this. omg!

when i'm browsing, i don't have a hand on the keyboard unless i'm typing a reply to a post. hence i prefer "right click, open in new tab"

and i'm not giving it bad press. i've never had a problem with IE. i just think firefox is better, so go pick on someone actually bashing IE. =P

the first time i heard of "tabbed browsing" i was like meh. then i was at a friends using his comp and he had firefox and to me, tabbed browsing was exactly what i wanted and i went home and downloaded firefox straight away.

only problems i have had are sometimes i get "user posted image" in forums instead of an actual image. so to see what it is, i have to load IE.

Mozilla Firefox.

With IE, I click 'favorites' once, the bar appears, and I have all my links on the left, and I click as needed. With Firefox, I have to click 'Bookmarks', scroll down the list that if I move the mouse from, the list disappears, roll over the one I want, wait for the next list to pop up, scroll down again (making sure I don't naviagate elsewhere from the list or I have to do it all again) and then click the one I want.

90% of the browsing I do, is from my favorites list, and to have it as awkward as Firefox is, means I would never use it as my number 1 browser. How can you say Firefox is easier than IE?

just shows you how different everyone uses the internet :)

i rarely go to my bookmarks. i bookmark pages that i need to go back to, pages i frequently visit and pages that i visit say once a week. but most of the pages i use every day (ie. this site) are in the list of addresses in the drop down box under the address i am on.

sounds like you have a lot of bookmarks.

i wouldn't have room for a favourites list on the left. i do most of my browsing at work, so i never have the window maximised. this is so i can quickly click on the window underneath (don't worry tracky, i'm also totally aware of alt+tab but as i said, hand isn't on the keyboard).

oh yeah and i find the "manage bookmarks" function in firefox a lot easier to use than the "organise favorites" function in IE.
