watched it for the first time tonight. it was a pretty good movie. it's different, but it was 4:30 am, and i was really tierd, but i watched it to the end. that's saying something. i watched the directors cut, which is probably a bit "better" than the original. there's no way it's better than Star Wars, though. not by a long shot.

Of course, your opinion is subjective. It has that hollywood-free, non-commercial resonance that strongly appeals to me. The story, characters, sets, and drama and tension are all blended very well, although, it seems most would be put off by it all because maybe there's no easily defined archetypes or a recognizable 'good guy and bad guy'. I liken this to 5 easy pieces. A villain, or hero/heroine, a winner or loser depends upon how you view a person or thing on the surface before you get more information, unless, of course, one goes by sight for information and then no further. I love this film.
