Did you know that The News are apparently the Zeligs of rock?

I still think you're all plotting against me so that my brain will explode.

They were great in Back to the Future, no diggity. Duetting with Gwyneth Paltrow? Not so great.

But is it still hip to be square?

I saw Huey Lewis & The News back in about 1990 or so. The Louisiana Lottery had a big concert festival at the Superdome to kick off the introduction of the lottery.

The only two acts on the bill I remember were Huey and Fats Domino.

I saw Huey Lewis and The News a couple years back in Detroit at the DTE Energy theatre. It was a pretty awesome show and probably one of my favorites I've seen to this day, actually.

Not that I've seen a whole lot of shows, but they definitely did put on a good show and all my friends had a good time despite their initial apprehension to go see "those guys that made The Power of Love."

I saw 'em on the Sports tour. My buddy Jeff made me go. And it was a terrific show. Waaaayyyyy better than Sonic Youth or Elvis Costello. :(

...it's like watching a really juke professional pub band. And they have a pretty honest-seeming spirit of fun, and they get the crowd into it without pandering of just being plain old icky. And, boy, can they sing. Seriously. Not exactly the height of blue-eyed soul, but close enough to have a great time.

The ever-versatile Huey Lewis is on Broadway in Chicago (http://jam.canoe.ca/Theatre/2005/11/17/1311199-ap.html)! (!)

I was throwing out old magazines and stumbled across an item mentioning Huey and thought it's destiny.

Hey, didn't ghostbusters get sued because the theme song sounded too much like "I need a new drug"?

I'd take Heat Of Moment over anything Huey's got in his arsenal.

It would be cool if Huey Lewis & The News released another album, "Like Another Hole in my Head".

That would be cool.

Huey Lewis & teh News blow

The only thing good that ever came out of that hack band was the character in American Pyscho had a page dedicated to them, so I could chuckle when I read Bret Easton poking fun about people that got behind that gwiz....And of course he also had a page about Whitney Houston and then one about the talent abilities of a one Phil Colins. So that's the playing field they're on
