there is not enough information yet buyt one of my firends has been missing since friday morning. She has been know to take off but usually she lets someone know about it and she doesn't have any know mental problems.
there are some definite things that don't add up in this situation that make it different from her usual excursions, and perhaps she disappeared on her own accord. We really don't know anything. the athorities have been notified and now everyone is waiting to hear. my other friend who knows her best said she won't be really worried until a week has passed, but we are all concerned and hope she is safe. :(

:( i hope your friend is ok. sometimes people take extended vacations, and they dont tell anyone. maybe (hopefully) this is one of those instances.

The receptionist at my work has disappeared, too. That's weird. Nobody's heard from her in over 4 days, including her family. She's just gone.
Hope everything turns out okay.

She might not even realise she's 'missing'. She may think she let someone know where she was going, but actually forgot to. My sister did that once; went to Vegas for a weekend on a whim with another friend and she said she was sure she'd told her roommate but she hadn't (or the roommate had forgotten, which isn't likely; that gilr was very sharp). So the roommate calls me and some other friends and we're all freaking and, and then suddenly she turns up and is like "Woohoo, I won 500 hundred bucks!"

oh man, mike that is really weird. they've both been gone about the same number of days. creepy.
thanks for the kind words everyone. All we can do is hope for the best and I'm just throwing this info out into the internet abyss in the hope that some good energy reaches her where ever she is. you know how they've done studies and found that patients who were prayed for (even by complete strangers and without the patient knowing of the prayers) had better recovery than those who weren't prayed for? well this is kinda that idea.
maybe she's w/ cookiepuss's friend.
maybe she IS cookiepuss's friend!

Whirlwind romance?
Has your friend missed any obligations where she'd need to give notice, like work days or family get togethers or anything?
If not, maybe she's just "free as a bird" and wants some alone time.

^ it's geographically impossible since that would mean my friend commutes to Canada everyday for work...but if I didn't know better I'd think the same thing.

well I mean she could have taken off with another man, but she has been living with her partner for about 5 years.
umm...regarding her work...that's where it gets strange...I'm not going to get into it because we don't have all the facts, but that's one of the things that doesn't add up.

...and her partner doesn't know anything? That would be a big sign that Something's Up.

^I know. he's clueless and a mess.
I just found out she was last seen friday night at a gas station out on the coast. this makes me very concerned because the coast out here is very, rocky cliffy sorts stuff and even many of the back roads are winding with huge ravines. I mean if she drove off a cliff it could be days, weeks or a low tide before they find her or her car. Fuck. this is not good

well we have no new information on Jeney, the plot just continues to thicken.
this is the article that ran in today's paper with a photo (thought the web version doesn't show the pictur):
WINDSOR SR woman missing since Friday
Family, friends and police are looking for a Santa Rosa woman who hasn't been seen since Friday, when she left for what she said was work.
It now appears Jennifer Michelle Sanchez, 32, may not have had a teaching job in Windsor as she said, making her disappearance all the more mysterious, her mother, Dianne Sanchez-Vance said.
Though described by friends and her live-in boyfriend as doing fine and even upbeat, it's clear she had some financial concerns, her mother said.
"We're hoping that everything got overwhelming and she just needed to get away and maybe pull it together or something," said Sanchez-Vance, who arrived Monday from her Park City, Utah home. "That's my fervent hope and wish. That's what I'm hoping for."
Sanchez left home at about 5:30 a.m. Friday, police said. Records show her credit card was used to buy fuel at a Union 76 station in Bodega Bay at 8:47 p.m. There's been no sign of her since, and a missing person's report was made Monday.
Santa Rosa police asked for help finding her or her silver/gold 1995 Chrysler Concord with license plate number 3KNU313. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 543-3590.

Hmm.... well, she's using her own credit card rather than paying cash (or getting a cash advance), so she doesn't mind leaving a trail, wherever she's going.
If the gas station had surveilance cameras, they'd know if she were with someone or not; that would be something.
Wow. This must be hard on you folks, I know, but... it's pretty interesting. How long did she have this "job"? And no one ever went to her workplace, met her for lunch, saw her with work friends, saw her grading papers at home, talking about students, etc.?

we're all trying. thing is, if she's ok, she's not going to want to come home because of all the lies she's told. She' dug a pretty deep hole for herself.
I mean her lies aren't malicious, she justed wanted everyone to think she was doing ok, ya know? Still, it will be hard to face us now that everything is public.

She hasn't used any cards since the night of the 10th when she bought gas...if she's still on the move she's got a stash of cash from somewhere. or she's not traveling alone and someone is with her helping fund her.
She did talk about school, her students, the works. She had definetly created that world for herself even if was only in her mind. She was supposedly going to school part time and working on the thesis. she was seen working on the thesis. but after further inspection of her papers by her friends, it's not really up to snuff for a real thesis. Her boyfriend had picked her up from "school", but as he looks back on it..she never came out of the building, she was always out front, even on the days he was early to pick her up.
She appeared to be mentally sound, but it looks like she was patholgically lying, an good indication that there maybe some mental issues. :( we don't know if there are drugs invlved and we have no idea where she was really spending her days or with who. She left everyday at 5:30 am and came back in the evening on schedule. that's alot of time unaccounted for. it's all so bizarre.

I'm very sorry. Hopefully she is doing it on purpose. It's scary if you build a story and you're afraid to come clean because it only gets harder. I had a close friend who lied to me and her family about almost everything involving what was happening at school. When her lie was exposed, she crashed pretty hard.
In case it is something more tragic: a guy I knew disappeared. The best lead was that his cell phone was on and in his pickup when he disappeared. When your phone is on, it's always looking for a tower. The cell phone company could track which cell phone tower the signal last found, which gave the family a radius to search. They rented a plane and found where he crashed and died. I hope someone's looked into the phone angle with your friend.
I don't know if there's anything worse than having a missing family member because you wonder if he's alive and hurt and thus your delay could be costing his life.

Great NEWS!
Detectives found her last night and she is physically ok. I don't have any more details than that. Obviously there is still quite a mess to sort out, but we are all releived that she is alive and hopefully we can get her some help for her problems.
Yay! thanks for everyone who showed their support! :D

I got some more details on how Jeney was found....they found her alive in the trunk of her car and she doesn't know how she got there or how long she's been there. We are actually really lucky to have her alive, since she was very dehydrated and is a diabetic. We know she had somesort of nervous breakdown, but she can't remember anything that happened from Saturday morning on. Alll she knows is that she came to in her trunk yesterday.
here's the follow up story that ran today.....
SR woman found alive in trunk
THE PRESS DEMOCRAT
A Santa Rosa woman missing for five days turned up Wednesday - locked in the trunk of her car, a few blocks from her home, police said.
Jennifer Michelle Sanchez, 32, couldn't say how she got in the trunk or how long she'd been there, Santa Rosa Police Sgt. Steve Bair said.
Sanchez was disoriented and dehydrated, but didn't appear to have been assaulted. "At this point, there's just a lot of unanswered questions," Bair said.
A person walking past the car at Barnes Road and Hopper Avenue heard someone pounding on the trunk lid and called police, Bair said.
He said several neighbors said they believed the car had been there since Monday. That's the day Sanchez was reported missing. She left home Friday, ostensibly to go to her job as a school teacher, but family members later learned she had no teaching job.
Bair said Sanchez remembered going to the coast to clear her head and spending a day on a bluff near Jenner. She said she walked back to her car, and the next thing she knew she was in the trunk, he said.
Police are asking anyone who saw Sanchez or her car, a silver/gold Chrysler Concorde sedan, to call 543-3590.
---------------------------------------
We aren't sure what going to happen with her next. Her family and friends are trying to decide what will be best. we know she needs therapy/psychiatric care. and obviously they have also not rulled out that someone had her over the weekend and then placed her in the trunk..so there could be further truama (there is truama from her past that all kinda led up to the lies and everything else).
Hopefully eveything will work out for her and she will finally heal.

That's wonderful news. I hope she gets some help. It's probably going to be a long road.
We had a couple of young women here who did similar things to themselves to get attention and/or to redirect attention away from something else. Police usually charge them with a crime for wasting resources, but they had more dramatic and staged exits.
