...once you've seen it.
I was thinking I'd see it today, but I don't know. We'll see. There's a theater on my route that plays it earlier than the one I was going to attend, but I also think I'm getting sick and should probably just sleep...
So, yeah. Anyone seen it yet?

It looks like a video game.
I think it will suck.
But Peter Jackson sure did drop a few pounds. That's kinda interesting.

A) Does it? I haven't seen any previews except postage stamp-sized things.
B) Really? Suck? I mean, all I've ever seen is his LOTR stuff, and certainly parts of it did suck (and I walked out on Two Towers), but --
Oh. Yeah, okay.
C) Good for him.

I've never understood walking out in the middle of a movie. Do you get your money back or something? I couldn't do it. You're an odd man, a-z.
Yeah, it looks cheap. I loved his LOTR work, but this looks stupid. I hope it's not, because I do intend to see it, but it'll probably suck. Yes, suck.
I just got back from watching it.

...if it's early enough, you get money back or a pass to see something else, plus you save your time.
If it's not early enough, you just save your time and spare yourself some terrible cinema.
I can't understand why other people would feel obligated to sit through a bad movie. It's like the whole applause thing -- they're not there. They'll never know.
And -- isn't anyone else's time more valuable than a bad movie? Or any movie, for that matter?
Do you also finish consuming shitty meals at restaurants?

...unless you gained employment under a pseudonym and didn't tell us, I don't think any of those thoughts on that site are yours, Der Sparky.
Plus, they don't address the issue of my health at all. So.

I sit through all sorts of bad movies. I don't really mind at all. I was always a curious child. And some movies are bad, but still entertaining.
I think this movie is gonna kick ass!

...bad movies that aren't entertaining are just bad. Period.
And most bad movies, frankly, are just bad. Go read a book. Feed the poor. Something.

A few films have redeemed themselves - if you leave too early how would you ever know? I think I've left during one movie that was godawful, can't remember which though...it was at the dollar theaters.
Both times Notorious LOL came to visit, we saw two horrible movies - The Incredibles and whatever that Get Shorty sequel was. I think we both wanted to leave but didn't know the other person did or something.

The critic at Rolling Stone thought King Kong was the second coming, and he's by far the most reliable critic with my taste. For instance, everyone hated Fight Club when it came out except him and me and two of my friends. (now everyone pretends they liked it at the time but they're LYING). The only reason I'm going to see this movie is because of his review (http://www.rollingstone.com/reviews/movie/_/id/6137426/rid/8936747/?rnd=1134610595167&has-player=true). I think EW gave it an "A" too, and they're my second most reliable barometer.
I have never been able to walk out of movie. The only times I've wanted to (Armagedon / The Cook, the Thief, His Wife, her Lover / Caligula / Brothers McMullen / the Catherine Zeta Jones movie where her butt has to stay below those laser things / and a caper film apparently filmed in France and starring Richard Lewis and a cast of thousands) I had been driven to the theater by a sad, sad friend who actually enjoyed the movie. For Brothers McMullen, I considered catching a bus, but opted to sleep instead.

OK, saw it last night....thought it was really good. A few of the island scenes were drawn out, but over all I give it an 8.

[spoilers****i guess.. ill put it in a different color]
i loved the movie, i thought it was probably one of the best action movies this year, the only things that i didnt like were the fact that some parts were drug way out when they could have been cut shorter(on the island where they see the dinosours and they start running cuz the raptors or watnot where chasing them... that drug out pretty bad, although still cool to watch) umm... one particular fight scene should have been a little longer and more emphasized on (the t-rex vs. kong where like three of them gang up on him and they fall off the cliff and he breaks one of their jaws) and when they get back to New York it seems a little wierd, dunno y... but anyway, Jack Black delivers two lines kinda wierd... the classic: "I give you...KONG!!!" is pretty bad... its not the one from the commercial, the commercial one was good i thought, but this one he lacks emotion. and then at the very end when he says "it wasn't the airplanes that killed him.... it was beauty killed the beast" after he says that it seems wierd.
Also when Anne is walking out from the dust in SUPERSLOW MOTION with the moon behind her with the sappy music playing... the theator actually laughed at how corny and out of place that was... that should have been way different.
well... thats all i can think of right now... i dont suggest walkin out of this one... this is one of those that are good in theators, but no so well on the small screen i believe

Man don’t care what anyone says, I absolutely loved that movie. I’ll admit I didn’t even want to go because I was expecting a Godzilla 2000-like crapfest. I went though to appease my buddy and his girlfriend who really wanted to see it. Anyway I was extremely surprised how good it was. When I think of really good movies I always try and think back to the old days when people went to movies for the adventure and escape. The world was a smaller place in the sense that there wasn’t the vastness of the internet and one’s fingertips or 200 plus channels on satellite. Back then people went to the movies to get lost in the story. That’s kinda how I felt about this movie. It really had it all, action, drama, romance, comedy the whole nine. Plus the whole Kong story is about a lot more than just a giant ape that breaks stuff. The underlying themes were presented very well.

I was pretty disappointed. I didn't care of whole lot about the ape, which hurts the whole point of the movie, to me.
Come to think of it, I really wasn't too involved with any of the characaters. It wasn't as bad as something like The Matrix, where the special effects clearly overshadow everything else about the movie (especially logic), but I don't think the story supported the weight of the whole three hour tour.
Especially that first hour. It's not exactly tedious, but it's more work than the first third of any movie should be.

i gave it a 7.
was a decent movie. i didn't go in there expecting to be blown away or "omg, its my favourite movie now!". it was just....yeah entertaining.
what i did like, SPOILER HERE, was when they fighting the bugs and "insects", the music was nice and dull and not all horrific and shocking. it really did just stay in the background. like when that guy was being swallowed up by them worm things... any other movie you'd expect all this big shocking OMFG music... but nah... they just kept it quiet and calm.
i liked the movie. after seeing the preview of it when i went to see a couple other movies, i wasn't impressed and wasn't going to bother wasting my money, but i got offered a free ticket. the "cover" looked shitty, but the movie was pretty entertaining. i'm not frightened by bugs, but those fuckers made me squirm a bit. i give it an 8. i might see it again, but i wouldn't buy it.

I went and saw it with Tzar...thought it was a bit pathetic really haha. Oh well!
It was pretty slow until they got to the island. My friend said it was like Titanic meets Return of the King...which I agree with.
I wanted to leave half way through the movie, only because I started to care about the fake gorilla and didn't want to see him die.
I also got teary. So I punched a woman on the way out to regain any manliness I had.
