Mixtape time.

I'll get hated on by the "anti-mainstream" crowd, but my favorite shit in the world is the "soul loop." I want to make a mix tape of the dopest, most soulful hip hop songs.

I know it's cool to "hate the spinup" but I really enjoy Kanye's shit in that "genre." I love the Blueprint and College Dropout. I just gave Common's BE a proper listen. I'm really enjoying that. "Faithful" is a perfect example of what I'm talking about.

Also, I've really gotten into MFDoom, whom I just discovered a few months ago. He's kinda grimy, but he's got a few songs that I want to include. "Crazy World (I think that's the name)," "Quite Buttery," and the DangerDoom track with Kweli will make the tape.

Anyway, I'm stoned (as if you can't tell with the rambling) and I can't think.

Gimme some other tracks that fit with this type of music. Mainstream/underground anywhere inbetween. Hip-hop with the soul twist is what I'm looking for.

Gonna include Stand Together and Flute Loop, btw. What are your faves?

im down for MF Doom, but I really cannot stand Kanye West. Is the rest of his music as annoying as his singles??

If by annoying you mean excellent, yes.

MF DOOM - One Beer

It's got that voice sample thing throughout. Quite soulful I suppose. A great track nonetheless.

Madvillain - Strange Ways

Try William Bell I forgot to be your lover, or Private number. Both songs are sampled by dilated peoples, and the playaz club. Classic soul. I like to find the original samples, like flute thing, instead of flute loop and study where the dopeness came from.
