i want to get one of these pictures blown up and framed to some extent to hang on my wall, but i'm not sure which one i want to get. all 3 were taken when i went to chicago last year. i have a thing for structural steel, so this is what i like....

so help me pick

picture 1 - sears tower (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/jabumbo/searstower.jpg)

number 2 is a great picture!
but if you could get rid of the person in number 3, that would be a good picture!

the third one is too blurry and will look like shit when it's blown up

The third one will not work if you blow it up. It is not a clear enough shot to withstand the increase, and not unfocussed enough to look impressionistic - in other words, it will just look a bit crap.

Number one will look a bit washed out and grainy if you increase the size.

So, that leaves two, which is a nice photo; however, I would talk to the folks at the photo place and see if they can offset it - I think it would look better with less right angles.

edit - no I changed my mind about that last bit, when I picked up my computer and held it sideways instead of just tilting my head, it looked fine. BUT, I do think that number 1 is actually the more interesting stuff, so if the place you want to have it done can adjust the light and colour a bit (or if you can do it yourself on the computer) so it's a bit more intense, it will look better enlarged.

No, fuck YOU.

#2

The first one would look stupid blown up and the third is too blurry like Turd said.

yeah, i was assuming that once i put it in a frame, i could hang it whichever way pleases me the most...

maybe i will play around with the first one to see what i can do. i like that perspective best, but i see what you mean about being a little light

#3 is was my first choice but the blowup factor may make it look like a #2.
#2 would be my second choice, because I'm all about #2.

#1, no question

#2 seems to be winning, which is unfortunate, but i will agree that #3 is the worst of the three

not that it's bad, it's just the worst

if #1 were in black and white, i'd pick it. but it isn't. so i'm going with #2.

those are all kind of badly framed shots, i wouldn't choose any of them

i mean, if you cropped #1 closer so noting else is clutterring up the shot, maybe.

i think everything else in the shot helps make the picture look more intense. i would have chosen that one, had it not been for the fact i wouldn't have a picture of a US building on my wall.
