View Full Version : I might be alone on Christmas.

the boyfriend was planning to leave back home for a while now. And my parents JUST decided they want to go up to nothern california on Wednesday through Monday. I work Wednesday through Friday and as this point, haven't turned in a time off request since I had no idea they wanted to leave out of town for Christmas (and neither did they I guess). Apparently, for the first time since I was in 6th grade, the ENTIRE extended family will be there. Some of the people I haven't seen SINCE I was in 6th grade.

Also, even if I do get the days off by some miracle, I don't think I can afford to not work those days.

This sucks :(

Throw your own christmas party - with blackjack and hookers.

The one time I was alone on Christmas, I had the rope tied, and was standing on the stool and the phone rang.

So I answered it and it was one of my best friends and we went drinking until 6am Christmas Morning.

Last time I was alone on christmas, I foiled two burglars with my elaborate plans and use of sticky backed plastic.

Merry Christmas though!

if I threw a Christmas party, it'd be just me. Everyone I know has plans with their family and everything.

Maybe it won't be all that bad. Maybe my boss will call me and say "oh that's fine go ahead" ...but then there is the money issue. I was really banking on this next paycheck, I really need this money.

:|

Think it would be shitty to ask my relatives too "hi, in order to come see you I have lost out on oh, 450 or more dollars, so you will reimburse me in the spirit of Christmas, right?"

Well, I am off from school in January so I guess to make up for it I can work full time for the entire month... but then I was going to use the extra time in order to take care of TONS of things I really needed to get done around the house and with my bill/school/etc situations which require me to be places during business hours, etc.

meh. Anyway, just need to get this all out since I just found out and am kinda pissed/sad.

Oi, did you get Soulcalibu III? Because of you I got it, and I must say it's great. So don't kill yourself. I might phone you up.

and yeah actually I have SC III. I like it a lot, although, I'm kind of losing my taste for video games.

I know I will be alone on Christmas. Parents are going away and both of my brothers live elsewhere.

I'm doing a 9-9, I mean bloody hell I'm missing all the good telly.

My parents are working on Christmas day, but they'll get 3 hours off for dinner which is nice.

Crystal, when are your family and bf home? You could have post Christmas Day celebrations, I don't think people tend to mind celebrating that sort of thing twice. It would be different but...well, the novelty is there innit.

haha. It's a long story. Don't get me wrong, I still love the games. Just with work + school, the only free time I get is short, and I rather be using it to make art, doing my homework (because I need to), or working out (I have a really bad immune system, always get sick, etc) instead of sucking away 4 hours of my life playing a video game. Not to mention they are expensive as all hell.

Make sure you tie the iron just right so it will swing down and smack the robbers in the face if they try to break in Kevin.

I hope Kevins limply swaying feet don't hit the robbers, along with a sweet smell.

Damn right it doesn't mister! My Christmas shift starts at 9pm christmas Eve and ends at 8am Christmas Day. Yes, that means that I'll be sleeping for most of Christmas Day....but having looked at the tv listings it's probably for the best.

in other news i might be alone for new years eve. Semi voluntarily. one mates got a wedding for his work mate, and I'm not really sure I want to do what my other mate will be doing. So yeah. Sit at home or go somewhere I don't really want to go just for the sake of it.

I was alone last year. It sucked in the morning. I made plans with friends for dinner though, so it made it suck less. It did suck in the morning though. :( Did I mention that it sucked in the morning?

Damn..that sucks girlie. Let me think....ohm....ohm

Oh here goes. How about being a dishonest sleazebag such as myself? I know you have some sick days lurking around somewhere. The good thing about sick days is that you get paid for them. You'd better start coughing now....

Or if you don't want to/can't do that, then how about voluteering at some battered chick's home or something. They usually have festivities on Christmas for the poor souls stuck there. You can get a plate, some fellowship and maybe even some other shit like a gift bag or something. They usually give out goodies. You also get to feel all warm and fuzzy and stuff.

Or, I know you have a rich aunt/uncle who can spring for u... :D

Or, you could just tag along with bf.

no sick days. Not enough money to go with the bf, hence why I am not going in the first place. I have no rich aunt, uncles, or any relatives what-so-ever.

I will probably volunteer :)

I imagine that the morning will suck. I guess everyone goes through Christmas alone at least once.

hey, i feel you. i'll be alone christmas eve - which is also my birthday.... i'm talking myself into i'll use it as a reflective period to search my soul for a deeper meaning.... but i'll likely just get drunk on wine....which is when some of my deeper meanings come to me to think of it.... wine anyone?

hey, good plan.

One of my christmas gifts is a gift certificate to an art store. I asked to get it early so I can get supplies, make art, and drink wine all week long and on in to Christmas.

Heck yes. I think I'll be sad but, there is a part of me that is also looking forward to the down time. I am always with my family or always with the boyfriend, so some apart time is okay. Just too bad the timing is kinda shit with the holiday :)

edit: turns out, one of my best friends that I thought was going to be out of town is going to be in town and she called me today and asked what my family was doing for Christmas. I told her and she yelled at me about how I cannot be alone and is bringing me over to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas with her and her family, and a mutual friend in the same situation is going to be there as well.

How funny. Not sad anymore :D yay.

The homeless should heed those words.
.....
Heed
To his every word, live in fear
Faith
Of the unknown one, the deliverer
Wait
Something must be done, four hundred years

So let it be written, so let it be done
I'm sent here by the chosen one
So let it be written, so let it be done
To kill the first born pharaoh son
I'm creeping death
