View Full Version : Spring Break 2006!

I've noticed how some people seem to think that the greatest thing about college is spring break. Hell, even MTV runs that special where they go to Cancun or some place in Mexico and go crazy for a whole week or something. I've never really understood it, but I guess I'm willing to give it a go... on my own terms and in my own way, I reckon.
So, for my spring break this year I'd like to go to Las Vegas. From my trip to L.A. this past winter, I've decided that the west side of the country is really the place to be. I've never been someplace like Las Vegas either... so now that I'm finally 21 (actually, I'm 22, but whatever) it might be worth it to go check out what the place has to offer.
Problem is... I don't know a damn thing about what places are good to stay at for decent prices, or what really might be worth checking out. All I really know is that I might have a chance to see Tom Jones and if Mars decides to attack us, I better find him 'cause he's one of the only people that survives.
I know we have a few Las Vegas locals here as well... so give me some ideas on what do, where to stay, what to check out, and stuff like that. I'll more than likely be bringing a few of my friends with me and we'll all be 21 or older, so anything is pretty much cool. Girls just wanna have fun, y'know?

Excalibur is cheap and on the strip. I'd recommend that place.
Or alrugg's backyard.
Go see T. Foxx at the Tropicana. Best free show ever. He runs his own fog machine.

Despite being labeled "cheap," everything will be jacked up for Spring Break. Go with some friends and split a suite.

Yeah, I realize this. But our spring break doesn't fall in line with most other schools... usually we're a good week or two before everyone else. It kind of sucks and is cool at the same time. This time, I'm hoping it works in my favor.

if you really really want cheap, Howard Johnson's by the airport. But then you need a car to get to the strip, though it's only a few minutes if you want to pay for a taxi.

Actually, it looks like the Stratosphere Hotel might not be a bad deal for the dates I'm planning on going. We can get two adults in there for six nights ranging about $415 total. Sweet deal. Now I've just got to confirm with my roomie and figure out what the hell else there is do.
I always end up at the Hard Rock Hotel and finally stayed there this last time. If you can't afford to stay there, at least visit and the pool area is absolutely insane.

Strato isn't on the strip though. Don't know if you care but that can be a pain in the butt.

Excalibur rules. When we were there, there was a stock room across the way that was open forever and nobody was going in. I looked and there was TONS of booze so I stole a bottle of vodka. I could have taken a lot more, I should have. It was hard to chill it though, took forever :/
Pszmagrafs was there for that experience haha
It was so weird, there, I ran into my uncle who lives in California. What are the odds? With that luck I should have played some blackjack or something.

SS thanks for reminding me about spring break, btw. My friends and I always want to plan something and it never happens cause we don't do it far enough in advance. I think we might try and go to NY . Ahhhh yeah.

If you go to the stratosphere try the big shot. It's
soooo cool! Oh, and buy the photo afterwards. :D
BTW: the Golden Nugget is cool, too, allthough
it's not on the strip either.

It was right after the name change; probably 1986 or '87 at the latest.

Not my school... all you have to do is fill out a short form saying you're going to stay over break and that's that. If they don't make you turn in your key, I don't see how they can really prevent you from staying there anyway...

they put other locks on, it depends on the building. like the one i was in had a deadbolt that no one had the key to and they lock that up over break. i dunno about the building im moving into, how that works, but they do something.
