Has anyone seen these 2 movies? I think Devils Rejects is 100 times better than House of 1000 corpses. I think Rejects actually has a plotline, while 1000 corpses has no real point. There is no storyline really, kinda just the old boring, car breaks down, teenagers lost, freaky ass people invite them to their fucked crib. Rejects actually had a story of that the law was chasing them and you learn more about the characters. At the end of Rejects you kinda side with the bad guys. While Corpses has no point to it, it doesnt make you think, it just shows the killing side of them, instead of a well rounded character. Devils is amazingly filmed, amazing shots and the dialoge is excellent.
Anyone else seen these?

I think the first one was more of Rob Zombie’s way of paying homage to the 70s horror film genre, while Devil’s Rejects plays out more like a suspense thriller. That is why you have to have more of a plot and character development in it. They relied less on slash and gore and more on those two things. I enjoyed them both but you’re right that DV was probably a better actual movie.

I like House slightly better but that may be my girlfriends influence (she loves H1KC and hates DR). House had more quotable lines and a far cooler mother Firefly, Grandpa (the actor died before he could see the finished movie) and a funnier Captain Spaulding. Of course that plot is far more ridiculous but it was the first modern horror movie I really enjoyed. DR has the chickenfucker jokes, Baby is slightly less attractive and a different perspective on cruelty and violence. In no other movie the actors say "Fuck" as often as in DR, by the way. Your totally right about the character development, of course. It is more an homage to grindhouse theater. I was also kinda bummed that all my heroes died at the end, but it was a great scene.
