When I ignore someone here, it means I pay no attention to their posts, I don't need a button to do that.
For me it's not about 'needing' a button, it's more just the convenience of being assured my eyes do not have to accidentally fall on some sort of bothersome drivel from someone who has proven to be capable of producing nothing more.

That said, I did recently perform my annual ignore-list amnesty, and purged the list. So now it is empty. I like to give people second chances to prove me right. :)
