....evryone pretty much knows the essential Prince albums by now, I think.

Okay. So: which not-so-lauded Prince albums really deserve a third or fourth listen, because they're actually brilliant?

Why is Parade on that list?

....is it a beloved album now? I've never heard good things about it except from critics.

I don't think Musicology is underrated much, especially since it helped him get back in the limelight. And I think a lot of people acknowledge it as his best work in over a decade.

Oh, maybe it's just me who likes it then.

No, I think Parade is considered one of his best albums.

...Tal is the first person I've met besides Mischelle B------- who ..... thinks it's a great album? Talk to me.

I've read critics go nuts all over it, but most real life people I know dismiss it. Talk to me. I might have to pick it up.

on that list, they're all classics, and if you disagree then you're just a sucker!!! ;)

pick it up, it's just so diverse, as were all prince's albums around that time. the only track i "sometimes" skip past is mountains and that's only on the odd occasion. sometimes it snows in april, the closing track, is just beautiful, one of my favourite ballads of his. go buy it, seriously

I never thought the symbol album was underrated but if it is it definitely shouldn't be. It has And God Created Woman and 7 and my name is prince and sexy mf

I saw a copy of The Most Beautiful Girl in the World (or whatever) in the bargain bin the other day for $3.95. Isn't that hard to come by these days? Maybe it doesn't matter.

The black album is out of print also, right?

Seeing as how I'm only working my way through the "essential" Prince albums ("Purple Rain" and "1999" so far (y) ), I'll have to listen to a lot more of his back catologue to give a qualified answer...

Under the Cherry Moon (soundtrack).

nice choice (y) . i love the horns at the start of le grind, infact there's not much i dislike about the black album......cept for dead on it which is prolly one of the worst songs he has ever made. forget that and it's another classic for me

going back to 2 nigs....... love the energy of that, he didn't do enough instrumental stuff

boring fact 1: the rap from cindy c was jacked from music is the key by JM Silk (a very good house track out of chicago back in the day)

I voted for "Other"... the "Batman" soundtrack.

I know it's not exactly loved, but damn, I loved the songs on the movie and listening to the album brought me back.
