i dunno, i guess it depends on how high that particular jedi's mediclorians are. i suppose youd only have a few at first, i mean, you wouldnt be like yoda or aniken or anything. but id think since they're little organisms they could multiply? or maybe if you wanted to be really powerful youd have to keep doin it?

I was disappointed by the notion of mediclorians. I didn't see Episode III but I heard that in the novels and comics, mediclorians were mentioned. I always thought of the force as something more spiritual than that. What is with the ridiculous "chosen one" BS attributed to Aniken? Why? Why do they all have to be "chosen ones?" Why is that necessary? Why build him up as the most awesome jedi ever because of genetics? Why not skill or desire? This would make his transistion to the Dark Side more plausible, becuase of his ambition. Why can't his father have been some drunken Corellian cruising through Hoth on a binge? Always with the chosen one this, half human son of a god that. Why cant the person who becomes the Once and Future High King of Fuck-What-All just be some jerk off the street who stumbles into the position through sheer coincidence? It works well enough for Presidential candidates, why not heroic characters?
That's what I've always liked about Beowulf. Beowulf and Luke worked for what they accomplished (serious ass kicking, monster spoils and the advent of a Free Republic). Anakin just had some "medi-wassimajiggers" in his blood stream. What if he hadn't been such a golden child? What if he had been more of an active participant in the underworld in which he was being brought up? (think the kids in City of God or at least Oliver Twist) This would have made his climb to Jedi status all the more heroic Did they even establish that Anakin "was a good man once?"
I think it would have been better if he was a street urchin who pulled himself up through ambition and skill and strong will to become, to be a Jedi, then to have that become his fatal flaw. Then it would also go along with the whole theme of the empire rotting from the inside, and even the most noble of Jedis can fall to the dark side.
As a child he was a slave, and the jedis offered him freedom, but then it also confined him again because Jedis can't fall in love or be greedy or vengeful. So then the darkside would seem even more tempting because it offers him the freedom to be the most powerful Jedi in the galaxy.

With all the fanfiction out there, I'm sure they could have collaborated to come up with something better than the total lack of emotional response in Anakin meeting Obi-Wan and Amidala. Dumb kid.

yeah i dont really like how aniken was portrayed in episodes 1,2 and 3. i dunno, i guess they did it the way they saw most fit. but yeah, i think of being a jedi as more of a spiritual thing. they're like buddhist monks. with lightsabres.
i dunno, i liked 1-3 but they could have made anni a little more believable and not hinged it on the love story so much. you never even really felt and chemistry between padme and him. but i guess they did a good job of tying it into the origionals. alltogether i liked them.

The first three were all about character development and emotions and relationships. Seems like the later three were more about action and politics.
The mediclorians is a suprise when you think about what Obi-Wan and Yoda had said about the force in episodes 4-6. It surrounds us, binds us, we nurture it and make it grow, luminous beings are we, and so on and so forth. One all powerful force that controls everything...and you can only access it if you were born with the right blood.

i can't say i would. if they took his fellas back to a lab, and got all the nasty stuff out of there, and then someone fed it to me when i was drunk is more "likely" to happen than the other ways.
i liked the first 3 episodes. some of the stuff was a little off, but it still helped me visualize more when i read star wars books.

same....i played star wars trivial pursuit so much that I memorized all the cards.

in the books i've been reading, it can either be passed down from your father/mother, or it can also just randomly appear.
maybe it is possible to access it through hard work and dedication, it just comes more naturally to some than others?
some jedi can learn faster , and others have to work harder depending on how much of the medi stuff they have in them.
i also read, that some jedi are really good at certain things (absorbing energy, like a blaster bolt and such), and suck at other things like telekinesis.

I didn't even know this discussion existed....
Anyways, since medichlorians are in all of a Jedi's DNA, there are in fact medichlorians in semen. So, when a Jedi blasts his wad into a woman (or man) they do recieve a very little amount. However, you can't transfer Force power or ability so no, you can't cum into someone enough to make them a Jedi.
...it's been a while since I even thought about Star Wars stuff...too much on the go.
