Hi guys

First I just want to say I'm not actually new - I used to be a member of this board and now my old username won't work and I don't know why

So anyway, I'm sorry if this has already been brought up somewhere else but I couldn't find it - Quasar (aka Beastie Boys, obviously) are playing in Adelaide in January!! Does anyone know if there are any plans to play in Sydney? And are they playing anywhere else that anyone knows of?

I find this doubtful considering the Sundance AIFST stuff going on in Jan.

Oh, maybe it is a different band that's also called Quasar. I did think it seemed a bit strange. Anyway, I found it on the triple j website under
http://triplej.yourevents.com.au/event/index.cfm?session_id=31649807&tsp=231205144513

There doesn't seem to be any info about the band on there (unless I just haven't managed to find it).

You're probably right though, I think I was probably just being hopeful :(

ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS?!?!?!!?! (Adelaidean here)

No... no way I'll believe this is *the* Quasar (ie Beasties) until I get some sort of conformation. don't want to get my hopes up.

Noooooo, this can't be right, it's gotta be a local band... It just doesn't make sense?

They do like Australia in the summer.

Good shit. I won't be there, but if this is true, it's a lot cooler than a radio show. (y)

But like, why Adelaide? :/ Maybe they liked our Big Day Out crowd, but it's so unusual. Anyway, I can't find ANY information about this band, which makes me a bit more hopeful... If it was a local band, you'd think they'd be trying to make a big name for themselves and promote.

A few years back the Beasties played some shows in Australia, on the Gold Coast and in Sydney, under the name Quasar, as a punk band.

But like, why Adelaide?
Maybe they've been watching all those "come move to Adelaide for the oportunities" comercials that you guys shove down our throats.

Yes. Because every single Adelaidean is responsible for those commercials being shown on the east coast :p

Take a look at these two links for some information regarding the Quasar/Beastie Boys dual identity.
