tonight I'm going to:
eat pizza
drink Sparks
browse magazines
watch Project Runway season one dvd
plan my new year's eve outfit
open some presents
snuggle with my cat
Christmas:
open more presents while drinking Abuelita (mexican hot chocolate)
clean the house
talk on the phone to family members and cort
cry
drink more Sparks
make chicken and pasta with spinach
Holy shit man, best Christmas ever! The streets are empty except for total creeps that like ran at me begging for money when I was coming out of walgreens earlier. eek! I said, "I DON'T HAVE CASH!" and bolted. Although a good christmas mugging would've been nice...I could at least have the company of grumpy cops at a police station. Actually, one of my only friends left in town is muslim and doesn't give a crap about tomorrow, so I could hang with him, we'll see.

My Christmas involves putting a brave face on things for my family and trying to hide my abject depression from them so as not to spoil it for everyone else. It may as well be Christmas alone. And, it being 1am, IT'S ALREADY STARTED!

This is my last Christmas with my family. They're moving to NC in about 5 months, then I'll have to drive 300 miles to see them. Bleh.

I was hoping the factory would be open today so that I could work and get some double time. That will have to wait until monday.
So today has been about planning book promotion, paying some bills, catching up on my kukamongous email backlog from the last month, writing some journal entries, designing some products for the website store, farting around with a few BMMBer pics on the sureshots page, think I'm gonna wash my cats soon. They're going to be pissed.
(I think my cats are involved in a conspiracy to keep me constantly busy in order that they might avoid being washed)
Little while ago I figured, I'd better hurry on up and go to the food co-op, I'm sure they'll be closed on Christmas. Well, they were closed on New Years Eve. So then I went all the way to the 24 hour Wegmans grocery store and they were closed too. I was totally clueless about what to do. I'm am bone dry in terms of food. The little bit of oat meal I have in the cupboard ain't lastin till monday. I need like 80 million calories a day now (and I still can't maintain my weight). So I went to this place called we never close. It's kinda like a grocery store mini-mart type thing. Instead of food, they sell various configurations of sugar. I tried to buy the closest stuff they had to food. And I figured a bag of cookies won't hurt me. Now I have a totaly whacked out sugar high. I feel kinda funny. And I've eaten Captain Crunch cereal for the first time in years, and I'm not sure what it's doing to me, but I don't suppose this is something I will want to do very often.
Heather's coming here on Monday (night, after I spend all day working as long as I can. And then on Wednesday we're going to California. Burbank/Glendale and what not. To hang our with some of my family).
Okay. I think I need to drink a lot of water now.
Bye byes.

my family lives out in arizona, california and texas. I just went to see my mom and aunts and uncles and cousins in AZ for thanksgiving and I couldn't really take any days off of work so close together. honestly, the only thing I ever liked about christmas was the presents and the lights, the rest is usually just a big stress ball. My extended family has always lived far apart, I'm an only child and estranged from my father and my mom is on her way to her 4th marriage...so, I'm actually kind of glad to be rid of the awkward step-family get togethers and stressful dinner preparations/clean up.
and no, I don't have a boyfriend. I've never had a boyfriend during christmas, so I don't even know what I'd be missing. and most of my friends are transplants from ohio, indiana or the suburbs.
I'm not sad, just bored.

I feel like I should be wearing a stupid sweater and drinking egg nog and watching my foul mouth in front of my dozens of family members like everyone else is right now. Instead, I'm sitting on the internet and drinking orange soda while my only 2 family members are asleep and/or doing their own thing. Christmas really is just another day unless you're big into Jesus and whatnot. Since I'm not, I could give two shits, but I am feeling a little blue right now because it seems like everyone else is probably having more fun than I am.

Sort of. The meaning of Christmas doesn't mean shit to people unless they're big into Jesus. For me and my family, and most of my friends and their families, it's basically Thanksgiving with presents. I think somewhere up the line my ancestors probably celebrated it for Jesus, but only the tradition has been passed down and no meaning behind the holiday.
Which is just fine with me, because I like family holidays.

That sounds like my family, too. It really is just another day for us because we engage in merriment and eat lots of food together on a pretty regular basis, and for that, I'm definitely grateful. :)

Solstice is pretty hardcore though. The Earth starts tipping the other way and shit. Way more rad-ass than all the pious people denuding conifer forests and singing songs about Jesus' birthday which was not in December. Big ups to the Pagans who couldn't be conquered and had to be coopted instead so that we get all these screwey holidays.
Jesus rose on the third day and that's why we celebrate fertility and eggs and rabits. Claro que si.

I certainly do miss waking up with someone on Christmas Day. I mean, that I don't have to pay for. And wearing Christmas socks to make someone laugh.

I really want electric-warming socks this year. I think I'll steal my dad's. They've got a battery pack around the cuff, and create heat throughout the entire sock. Perfect for wimmins like me with freezing feet.

My christmas will consist of sitting alone in front of my telly, with 'presents' that I had to buy for myself because noone else did.
*sigh* :(
