So I took two weeks off from the gym and spent the bulk of the past 10 or so on my couch eating junk food and drinking cokes. Needless to say I was a bit leery about getting on the scale when I went today. I was rather excited to see I'd actually lost about 4lbs....so umm yeah it was nice. Any of you guys turn into fatties over the holidays?

I don't weigh myself, I just kind of go on how my body looks. But I didn't overindulge too much during the holidays either.
I need to get to the gym, though. My love handles are getting a little out of control. I feel a little "muffin top" in my jeans.

I tend to gain weight when I'm happy, which then makes my clothes tighter and I feel fat and out of shape, which makes me unhappy, and then I lose weight again and I'm happy so I eat more...

I'm somewhat fat in the first place, but I didn't gain any extra weight. I'd already lost 10 pounds after thanksgiving due to being sick and stressed out. Plus my aunt cooked...she puts raisins and junk in her stuffing. bleh. My mom and I did eat at taco bell though.

Muscle weighs more than fat. You probably lost 10 lbs of muscle and gained 6 lbs of fat. Keep stuffing your face and you'll lose more weight.

i think i gained a few lbs pre-holidays because i noticed things feeling a bit tighter, but i think i actually lost weight over the holidays because i was travelling, eating very light and caught something really wicked so it's been hard to eat in general. either way, i got a pilates mat and ball for xmas and i'm joining a gym soon so woot.

You may be right although I have been lifting pretty close to what I was doing before I went on hiatus so who knows...

do you weight lift? that could explain it. muscle weighs more than fat. and if you don't keep intent on your wights, then it wares off.
for someone who wants to lose weight at a gym, don't life a bunch of weights, you'll just bulk up and weigh even more. of course, you wanna keep intent on your muscle, but cardiovascular things are what help you really burn fat.
edit: dammit, someone already replied with half of what i said.
but oh well, you can all take into mind the second part i put.

Actually, it's weird...I've lost around 15 pounds since moving to Atlanta in August and haven't even really tried to lose weight. I know it's stress related...moving to a new city, starting a new job, and not knowing anybody. I hadn't seen my sister since last May and she was shocked how thin I was. Well, I gained some weight after my divorce. But, it's weird...you don't realize it while it's happening until someone says something.
