Yesterday I got the strangest phone call..... when I picked it up a comupterized voice came on and said: 299! 299! (I add exclamations because the computer voice sounded kinda excited about it). And that was it. the line went dead after that.

I suspect it was just a telemarketer calling to find out if anyone would pick up at that hour. I was probably the 299th person on the list and I picked up...so now everyday at 6 pm I'll probably get a telemarketing call. :(


Anyway...I think it's much more fun to speculate about what other meanings random phone calls about the #299 might mean.

some of the wiring is fucked up at my friends house so when he is charging his cordless phone and makes a call from it or if you call his house...it somehow switches to his house's alarm and keeps saying "SYSTEM 1 ON." It was kind of weird at first til we figured it out. Not as weird as 299 but you know....whatever.
