View Full Version : THIS IS MY POINT OF VIEW ABOUT this....please read it
what i think of this is theywrite their songs thinking about all the kinds of fans, i mean they write thinking about straight, gay and bisexual fans to make them feel good because for me its boring guys always singing about straight stuff .Straight, gayand bisexual fans can understand the songs like they want but that doesnt mean that BB are gay, straight or bisexual maybe nobody knows it ,but it wouldnt be wrong if they werent totally straight but we dont know certainly SO WE CANT AFFIRM THAT THEYRE STRAIGHT.BISEXUAL OR GAY despite 2 are married andone is single etcetera......PLEASEE DONT TAKE OFFENSE

2 of them are married to women, 1 one of them has a long-term relationship with a woman. I think it's safe to say that they are not gay or bisexual.
They dont write their songs thinking about their fans. If that were true every album that they've put out would sound similar to licensed to ill. We should all give thanks that they write their songs according to how they themselves are feeling not what their fans feel.

How about stop arguing for fuck's sake? This thread wasn't intended for people to argue in, it's just a guy stating his opinion. Even if his opinion is wrong it doesn't mean it's bad. I think what he's trying to say is that he appreciates that the Beastie Boys don't write their lyrics that only straight people can relate to like singing about girls or something. And they support gay rights (such as the line in his sig, what Adrock said in This Gov. Needs a tune up...). You all are the ones who turned it into a big deal.

MY OPINION = I don't think that they purposly placed the word homophobic in one song to appeal to the gay fans anymore than they tried to appeal to older ladies with the song Boomin Granny, and boomin granny is a whole song on one subject not just one line. I think its nice to hear it in songs, but its not gonna win over fans who are going to buy thier whole catalogue because they say "homophobics ain't alright" in one song. I don't think their own sexuality should even come up. If you want to make some guess at it, you could just as easily say maybe one of them has a gay family member, maybe they are trying to make up for all of the homophobic statements they may have made earlier in thier career.
Also, we all know they appear to be nice guys. They aren't homophobic, but one members statement doesn't mean the whole group backs it up, it just means individually they have freedom to say what they want. If MCA rhymes about Buddhism or Snowboarding, I don't assume that AdRock is also Buddhist and Mike D snowboards. If AdRock Ryhmes about smoking weed, I don't assume MCA is going home to hit the bong.
Just my Opinion on the subject.

Now I got the point.
When you are famous, you gotta be careful with the things you say.
And I like BBoys coz they always take care of the lyrics, all lyrics have content, all lyrics have a message. Even if the message is "and all I really want is girls".
I admire them. They know how to use the words, even if each member has a different point of view about the things.
