Not sure if any of you know about this guy, he was a radio talkshow host who talked about paranormal/environmental/science/conspiracy stuff...quite an interesting show

He was madly in love with his wife and HAM radio

she passed away from an asthma attack

I used to be a big fan of his and listen to George Noory on occasion

R.I.P and my thoughts with the Bell family :(

Sad to hear.

He's been based not that far from where I live out here in Nevada (he actually has a big ranch near Pahrump).

The guy was a whackjob, but at least he was entertaining.

RIP, Mrs. Bell.

he wasn't much of a whackjob...just open minded

very little insanity coming from him, just curiosity

I know a president who is more insane!

C'mon...

He started out just giving all the "psychics" etc. a forum for their theories, but then he started believing the crap they were spewing and fomenting such claptrap as ethereal and astral travel, crop circles, etc., et al.

Call a whackjob a whackjob, please.

I listened to his interview with Libertarian Presidential Candidate Badnarik.

It's a shame this is the best publicity the LP can get.

What's that say?

It says the Libertarians have failed to win the hearts and minds of the citizenry of the US.

And don't say it can't be done....Perot ran a strong third in '92.

Yet Americans are oh so happy with Democrats and Republicans alternating every few years.

I doubt 5% of them have HEARD of the Libertarians.

GMA']I doubt 5% of them have HEARD of the Libertarians.

Actually, I think Libertarians have a pretty good name out there. The real problem, IMHO, is that you won't get many Republicans or conservatives who will support drug legalization or gay marriage and you won't get many Democrats or liberals who will support free markets without strict givernment oversights.

It's a dilemma for the Libertarians, I concur, to garner much more than 5% national support without substantial defections from the two main parties (and, yes, I know you were saying that 5% of the population is even aware of the party in the first place...I'd think it was probably more, but the Libs have been framed in the debate of ideas by the Demos and Repubs for a long time, so the Libs have little to no national or evene statewide impact).
