OK so they had the same PS3 shell there but I think they redesigned the PS3 controller. It seemed to be a more reasonable size in person anyway. Very close in size to the PS2, just slimmer.

The PSP is a centerpiece for a lot of their technologies coming out this year, as they are now releasing a 4Gb and 8Gb card! Yes, 8 god damned giga bytes on a memory stick. Location-Free is the device that will connect to your DVR, DVD, TV, SAT, Ect systems and allow you unfettered access via WiFi on your PSP from anywhere.

And then of course a lot of Blu-Ray Discs and Flat Panel TVs. Judging by mere mentions and presence, Blu-Ray will become the HD standard right now.

PSPs are really good if you work weekends or nights when it's quiet, far more entertaining than just reading. But then when it's really quiet we take in a PS2 and hook it up to the projector and screen. Nothing like playing games on an 8ft high screen (y)

For some reason those years are wrong. I've been here since 2000, and I'm sure Justin has been here the same length of time or longer.

The board crashed big time a while back and they basically re-built the whole thing. Everybody's joining date defaulted to the date it was re-launched (or something like that).

Plus Justin had a small problem with the board for a short while. Luckily, he got over it.

More important than Sony, Blu-ray, and whatnot, did you get invited to any hospitality suites? ;)

No I didn't and wouldn't, right Livy. Since I know my girlfriend has read my posts on at leat one occasion I'll just set that straight right now.

There were a lot of interesting things. A rollable LCD display is in the works and I belive it was PHILLIPS developing it. So like in that Val Kilmer Mars movie, you can have a interactive diplay on something you can fit in a pocket.

I finally saw an AIBO in person, SONYs pet dog thingy. Wow, the robots are taking over man.

I messed around with the new MSN Messenger, Live. But I didn't get a chance to play with the Vista OS. MSN Live is pretty nice though, and they won't charge as had been previously rumored.

XM has some fully portable satalite radios coming out the size of a cell phone. In fact they look like a cell phone. So fully portable and viable Satalite radio has hit folks, goodbye Terrestrial Radio. I know Sirius has some simillar things too and the both of em should be fully portable within the year I'm betting.

I saw a neat projection system, seems better suited to Hotels and Clubs, but might have some swank home uses where an ordinary looking pane of glass acts as a screen for a backwards projection with small unnoticeable magnets to give the illusion of a hanging HD display and turning the entire glass into a speaker. So you get sound without a speaker. Should make for some interesting hi-tech clubbing.

I also saw DirecTV is trying to come inside your SUV now with a luggage rack flat disc that will recieve content as well as live broadband internet service on the go.

PSP is doing horribly on the games front. I can't justify $250 for Grand Theft Auto.
I think SONY knows this and is pushing for some decent games. The reason you see more UMD movies than games is because SONY owns a lot of media content now and it's easy to pump out already made content while waiting for developers to finish up.

Plus games like Burnout are out now, with Me and My Katamari, Syphon Filter, The Pursuit, etc. the games are shaping up some.

why are flat panal monitors still so expensive?

i really want to get one and save about half of my desk space but i can't really afford it

King PSYZ
01-09-2006, 08:23 AM
because it's still fairly new and big box displays are still around and being shipped. It's getting cheaper for sure and soon it will cost more to produce the big box TVs and Monitors, then you'll see the price point drop.

is it worth the hold out then? or should i just break down and buy it now/soon?

it's one of those things that would be nice to have, but don't really need. i have a decent monitor right now actually. but i would definetly find a way to get rid of it if i got a flat one
