so earlier i was browsing around on a nother forum that i hadn't visited in a very long time. and i got into the computer hardware/help sections and just got all into reading about different computer developments and such, and completely forgot that i was supposed to be working.

i've also been tired enough a few times, at my old job, to just zone out for a bit and be staring at the wall/ceiling almost asleep when someone came to talk to me. that's a little strange...

I wish. I wish I could forget I was at work today. Ever notice how when you're looking forward to something after work the hours just seem to drag?

I answered the phone: "You there?" once.

Oh jeez. This is barely relevant to the topic, but I just got an email I need to respond to with a phone call from a teacher whose name is "Dick Johnson." Fuck me, how am I supposed to get through this without giggling?

Seriously, if your name was Richard Johnson, would you let yourself be called "Dick"? I mean really, why does anyone ever use that as a nickname anyway?

Oh man, I gotta make this call now.

OK, I'll let you know how this goes...

^ I interviewed for a job with Dick Corporation.

Ironic that this town has both Dick Corp, and Dick Brothers. Both of whom deal with construction.

i think for me, the first couple hours drag, but after lunch i get renewed. mayne its because i don't go for lunch till 12:30 or 1 usually, boy was it nice to take a 1-2 lunch break, and finish at 4 before.

but i do tend to space out more in the morning.

sometimes when the doorbell rings, i answer hello like it's the phone and then remember i have to get up and open the door.

i've never had a job, so i wouldn't be able to zone out at one. but i have zoned out many times in school, i once started singing a beastie boys songs and didn't even know it until the teacher toldme to shut up.

its only a temp job for 4 months, i'll be lucky if i get 1 paid vacation day. i allready know there are no company holidays while i''m here...

but i've got many a plans to travel in march for the end of the basketball season, and i don't care if i don't get paid over that time or not. its a good enough time to miss a few days

it took me awhile to train myself when on the phone or voicemail with a customer not to end the conversation/voicemail 'talk to ya later' or some variation of that

...my Dad went by "Dick" (hey, he was born in 1920 before they started using dick as slang for penis). One of my young nephews heard some one call my dad "Dick", so he turned to his father and whispered..."hey dad, that guy just called Grandpa a dick!" That was a fun little thing for my brother-in law to have to explain to a 6 year old.
