After spending some time on the message board over the last few weeks reading all the chatter about the film, we figured it was time to chime in about AWESOME; I FUCKIN’ SHOT THAT! and offer some more details for everyone.

When I say “we” I mean THINKFilm, the company releasing the film in theaters on March 31. Right now, the plan is to open the film in New York and Los Angeles on March 31, with additional cities either that weekend or shortly thereafter. I’ll post more when we finalize the details.

As we get closer to the opening weekend, we’ll also post about where to tune-in on tv/radio or read a newspaper/magazine that will feature the band/film so you don’t miss it. Now, for some other things to fill-in the blanks:
- Yes, the film will be released on DVD, but only after its theatrical run…figure sometime in June.
- Yes, the film will make its world premiere at Sundance
- Yes, the band will be performing at Sundance

Also, thanks to all the camera operators who were able to attend the screening last week, we’re glad you all enjoyed the film as much as we do. This film wouldn’t be in theaters without your hard work and love for the band.

And nice work to whoever sent in his/her review to AICN, kick-ass job!

If you have any questions about the film, post ‘em here. I’ll do my best to give you a semi-straight answer.

I think i overheard a few people saying their names were misspelled in the credits... is it too late to fix those?

Also, will this be one DVD or will it be a double thinger?

AND... I've seen concerts before in movie theaters... and in general the sound has been too low at those. The sound at the screening was great (the bass needed to be as loud as it was - it was great) but that probably was a factor in choosing the venue.

.. Will there be any special sound arrangements/requirements made for the theatrical release?

I noticed that people at the screening were a little reserved, probably because they don't know if they should clap/cheer/"sing"-along... can it be cleared up. and if it's encouraged, will there be something put at the beginning of the film when it comes out. It could make a big difference in the 'experience' people have.

Will the movie make it to the theaters here in Vancouver? There is this one theater called Tinsel Town which gets most of the "independant films" like The Aristocrats from ThinkFilms.

I hope it recieves a good response in the theaters...though to be honest I can't see it having a huge appeal overall. If it was just a straight documentary, yes, but watching a concert of a band you might kinda like might not be very appealing to a lot of people (I'm of course not referring to myself, as I am obsessed with them). A few of my friends wanted to try to come to the Sundance screening with me, but after I told them it was just basically a concert with a few other elements thrown in, they lost interest. Hmm.

for the film aficionados, this is a cinematogaraphy and editing masterpiece, tell THAT to the hoytie-toyties!

p.s.- I am hearing rumblings of the "other concert" while they are there...

something about a Blender Magazine party at a place called "Harry O's"...

investigate...

Harry O's always has big names and surprise concerts, so I wouldn't be surprised. I know someone who just got a job there during the festival, I should tell him to keep his ears open.

Also, I'm not talking about film afficianados, I'm talking about everyone...

Whoo Hoo!

Thanks for the official news, Mr. Klenert. (y)

Seriously though, does the dvd include some extras in the form of "Boys Gone Wild" madness? I'm really hoping for some. *crosses fingers and toes*
