I donno, I know everything I guess...nah just kidding. I remember in one of the sure shot remixes on anthology that he "never eats pork" and he's all like "fuck the chickens, I don't like milk!" and he mentioned somewhere (not sure where) that he grows his food in his own garden or something. And I'm not sure about Yauch because he says "all this cheese is gonna make me cry", and I know Horovitz does because I saw a picture of him eating a sandwich with some kinda meat on it.

I'm also curious why Adam was wearing that shirt. Was there nothing else available or something? Also, is Mike D vegan for AR or health?
talita
01-11-2006, 01:41 PM
Yeah, that's a good question...Why is Adrock wearing it if he does eat meat?
Meat is murder, that's my point of view. But I respect who eats meat, vegetarianism or veganism are options.

This reminds me.....

I believe you can participate in the animal rights movement and still eat a piece of cow flesh cooked medium rare with a baked potatoe on the side. Fighting 2 dogs, roosters, kangaroos, ect. to their death is one thing.

This year is my 5th aniversary of vegetarianism.
You can eat grains, beans, soy... There are a lot of healthfull options and plus you dont "kill" any inocent life.

you should read about that. internet is great
and also, you dont have to be vegetarian/vegan to support animal liberation. it doesnt really make sense, but i mean, its not cause you refuse to wear fur that you have to be vegan you know?

If you want to stop hurting animals, don't stop at just eating them.
Don't live in a house. When the timber is cut, many animals die because their homes are taken away. For this matter, don't buy anything made of wood.
Don't drive your car because you are breaking down the ozone in which all of gods creature rely on to survive. Don't even fart because that hurts the ozone as well. You might even run over an animal here or there.
Don't put magic tape on your cats paws. This will irritate him/her and it will hate you for the rest of its natural born life.
Those feather pillows you buy, guess where the feathers come from. There are some naked birds that have been torchered just for your comfort. I bet you they even have caught colds just because you wanted a good nights sleep.

A few years back I purchased a book called "American Photography 15" published by D.A.P.
:o Simply because the Beastie Boys and that photo of Adam is in it. :o
I was browsing at this book store.. picked up the book to look at it cause it was quite beautiful... and I was pleasantly surprised by to find the Beastie Boys in it.

I don't know how exactly Animal Rights groups operate in the US, but in the UK they are very messed up people. There have been a lot of cases in the news about how there 'methods' involve attacking, threatening families, vandalizing homes, and literally digging up the bones of dead family members of those that have anything to do with cruelty to animals. This includes completely innoncent people, whose line of work may include testing on animals which may lead to curing and preventing illnesses among humans. So while I support actual charities for animals in the UK such as the RSPCA, I am completely put off the whole idea of animals rights groups and activists for those reasons. If you're in the UK and you want to know a bit more about this, watch Animals on channel 4 tonight and you'll see how mindless and disgusting parts of so called 'animal rights' can be.

I have a friend heavily involved in animal rights in the UK and he never did such stupid things. at least things changed in the UK and a bunch of farms/factory closed down because of the activists. they know how to do their jobs

wooh! i think we are starting to derail from the what's really going on here.
so i hope this little piece clears up some mike d chatter.
cheese talk (http://www.venuszine.com/stories/music_interviews/854)
"Another thing I noticed in this album is Adam’s relationship with cheese. What’s with the cheese? [In “Triple Trouble”: “Ad Rock a.k.a Sharp Cheddar”; In “Shazam!”: “All this cheese is going to make me cry / Gorgonzola, Provolone / Don’t get me started on this microphone.”]
MIKE D: Well, the band itself has a bit of a love affair with cheese, even though I spent a few years being a vegan, which took me out of the cheese realm. But now that I’m back to being just a vegetarian, I am open to the cheese. "

Ummm. Do you eat humans?
I don't have an opinion about Adrock's shirt (I don't give a damn) but I don't know whether it could possibly be interpreted as a call to treat animals as equal to humans if the wearer eats animals. Maybe to treat animals so-called humanely.
