Miss Pie is coming to town. Well in September anyway!
Where can I find the best Pizza, Hot Dog stand...and (most importantly) place to stay?

My vote for pizza would be John's (http://www.johnsofbleeckerstreet.com/) on Bleecker St. or Grimaldi's (http://www.grimaldis.com/brooklyn.htm) under the Brooklyn Bridge on the Brooklyn side. It's fun to walk across the bridge from Manhattan and then eat there.

For a hot dog I guess you'd want to go to Nathan's (http://history.amusement-parks.com/nathans.htm).

For a top notch carnivorous experience, if you have some money, try Peter Luger (http://www.peterluger.com/) (y)

FYI - as tourist experiences go, the Top of the Rock (http://www.topoftherocknyc.com/ODTStatic/site.htm) is pretty good. It might not have the same cachet as going to the top of the Empire State Building, but it's got a damn nice view over Central Park. Oh and of, erm, the Empire State Building.

Rays on Houston St. is good NY pizza after a night of boozing in that area.

Try a bar called Bob's on Orchard and Houston, then the pizza.

for Hot Dogs, good ole gritty NY fare, try one of the Papaya's...

there's one on Broadway and 72nd on the Upper West Side

and there's one in the 20's on seventh avenue I think... you can find them on google. I think there're a few more, but they're not a chain. All variations of Hot Dog & Papaya in the name.

When i go to New York, I've stayed at the Royalton (whoa, to pricey) and Hotel Belleclaire. Belleclaire is a three star, has good rates, and is located in the Upper West which is a sweet part of town. Check it out.
