How do you feel about being a woman?

I have been going to a chiropractor / energy healer for the past month now and during one of my sessions this week she was like, "I have to ask you a strange question now...how do you feel about being a woman?" I really didn't know how to answer it. She told me to go home and journal about it and it's been on my mind since she asked. There are those women who are like, "I hate being a woman, we get PMS, have to give birth, wear nylons...men have it so easy ect. ect..." And then there are others who fully embrace it. Just curious on if you ladies seriously ever gave it much thought.

It's not like I have much to compare it to. You mean as opposed to being a 'girl'?

I know you know better than that.

You don't think it's charming when I play dumb? That's one confusing aspect of womanhood, not knowing how to be incredibly attractive - because there are so many possibilities - but wanting at all times to be attractive.

I don't understand the question.

I have never felt like a woman. I've always been more of a tomboy and never had urges to be "womanlike" to please men. Luckily I even lost my capability to breed so I don't have to deal with those "female pains" and I never wanted kids anyway, they're such a pain in the ass...

Sometimes I love it and sometimes I hate it. Not because of the PMS and all that, mostly because of the other societal pressures. My shelf life is shorter in terms of attractiveness than a man's. I am constantly bombarded by images of women being abused and degraded and mostly I don't let it bother me, but sometimes it gets to me. Sometimes I hate my natural inclination to take care of others' needs ahead of my own.

Yeah, it's cool and stuff. It took some growing up before I really did though. I had to realize that there are different types of women and that that's ok. Like not every woman is just like my mother and I don't have to be either.
I wonder if men think about this type of thing. Do they get together and discuss whether they like to be men or not?

I think men love being men.

I think there are 3 bad thing about being a woman:
- Menstruating (especially the cramps)
- The fact that girls gossip a lot and can be a real bitch
- Man or usually stronger than women (we need to protect ourselves, you know)

I really wouldnt like to be a man.

I have never given it much thought but now I will. I am proud to be a woman and I'm happy with it. Perhaps I wouldn't be if I had PMS and bad, long periods.

About the nylons thing and other "women's" clothings...that's only if you choose to play society's game. If you don't want them, then don't wear them.
society plays games?

I cannot change it (well, without a lot of money and hormone therapy), so I don't really think about it much.

I guess I like it. But like others have said, I don't really have anything else to compare to.

I like being a girl. (y) The only thing I don't like is the menstral thing and the fear of getting pregnant, but I aint got to worry about that right now. I think guys got it harder sometimes though because they can't show any emotion like crying or they'll probably be called a pussy by their friends. And women expect much of them, like when they're going on a date they expect them to pay for everything and be the leader. I don't though, on my first date we split the money because I'm cool.

I think I'd rather be a guy. I would have an advantage when it comes to my particular career if I was male (I probably wouldn't admit that in real life). It would be nice to walk around in odd places and worry a little less about being attacked.

Maybe I'd just like to be male for a bit to see what it's like. But I'd probably just wind up being a nerdy guy who got beat up a lot in junior high school.

I often wonder what kind of guy I'd be if I were one...or maybe I just want to have a penis for a few hours..I dunno.

This is a really interesting question. Lately I've been somewhat angry with the aspect of feeling the need to lose weight because men generally like girls who are "in shape". On average, girls will more often choose a guy who isn't as cute but has a great personality. This always has bothered me.

Although in the field I am looking to go into, men dominate, that's never seemed too daunting for me. I am good at what I do and that's the only factor that's ever really mattered. I hope I don't come across discrimination as far as myself being a woman, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

But by far the worst thing about being a girl, for me, really is the worrying about getting knocked up. Not like I get sperm deposits every day (or anywhere near regularly), but it does freak the fuck outta me.

this almost has nothing to do with anything.

when i was a glassy in a nightclub i worked in, i had to clean the toilets during the night. the guys toilets got bad, but nowhere as near bad as the girls toilets. they were fucking disgusting. girls bathrooms are much more filthier than guys bathrooms. anyway, back to the movie.
