this happens every year.... no, not mecca, but the people getting stampeded on. after the first few news reports they had on tv, i was saying to myself "wow, no stampedes yet?"

unbelievable, it happens annually and they still don't take extra precautions to avoid this?

do they really care for their fellow muslim?

or do they just want to throw rocks?

so let's say you know you're the one that stepped on someone's neck and killed them, how many fucking stones would that asshole have to throw?

I think he meant they as in the people that work at wherever all the stampeding is going on.

And the people go there and don't care if they die or not...they believe if they die on the Pilgrimage they go straight to Heaven...so it doesn't bother them any.

it's not really funny, if you think about it. people who are so led by religion that they believe the "sins" (like exposing your eyebrows or something) they are committing are worth dying for

"They", as in the governing police force, did do pretty much everything within their power they could reasonably do. Amongst other measures, pilgrims from different countries were given time slots during which they should go to the pillars, to avoid overcrowding. This infomation was, apparently, readily available, posted everywhere, distributed on handbills, in several languages. But the fact is that some people decided they were going to go when they felt like it, and so, here's the result.

I don't know that I find it 'funny' as in humourous, but I'm hardly shocked by it either.
