The problem with positivity for positivity's sake is that it leaves you either saying very little, being dangerously sanitised, or both.
You see it a lot in this forum. People don't talk like people, they talk like tactful automatons.
The worst songs for me are:
Song for the Man
We Got The
Triple Trouble
Just a Test
Eugene's Lament.
There's nothing on any of these I feel I need to hear anymore.
When the positive message comes correct like on 'Unite' it's all good. Songs like 'All Lifestyles' really need a counterpoint, and I guess that's why they're acceptable in concert form, surrounded by your 'Posse in Effect' or 'High Plains Drifter'.

Song for the man is a personal song.
I like Eugene's Lament I think it's a nice instrumental and Mike is into the indian culture.
Not criticizing your opinion, BTW. (y)
I feel that 'Time to build' is much more personal, if not more impassioned, and executed in a far superior manner.
'Eugene's Lament' is a loop, and a violin.

Yeah, I couldn't tell weather they were trying to make it good or just joking. Because Adrock was just...I don't know. :D But this thread should be called "songs you skip passed" because none of them are bad, just overplayed or not my type or something you know? But the songs I skip passed usually is fight for your right and girls.

Hmm the one's I'm not inclined to listen to are:

They don't offend me, but they don't exactly get me going either.

If i had to pick one song i dont like its skills to pay the bills but only coz i think it could have been so much better.

Well I aint got no issues with LTI, I listen to it a lot, I just skip passed them cause they're a little too cheesy to me. They were good songs though, just that I heard them too much. The rest of the songs on there are just great though. (y)

What can I say, it's an instinctual, animal reaction to the song.
First time I heard it, I thought it sounded like an educational rap song. You know, like a bunch of social science professors got together to make a 'fly' rap song for their 'homies' (students) to make learning about social reform fun !
It sounded really awkward and weak, especially the breakdown where adrock's like 'now how many people must get killed...'
After a while I got used to it and started to warm to it...
...and then cooled off again...
...and can now declare that I believe it to be the worst Beastie Boys song of all !

You gotta be joking about "The Scoop" ? Is it cause of the voice effect ? Cause I dont think its possible to not like that song. Its is the definition of Ill Communication Rhymes. Without the voice effect I think everyone wold love that song. One of my fav Beastie songs for sure ! Without the voice effect it would probably be my fav Beastie song.

Actually, it is in fact possible to not like that song. As for the reason, it's a combination of the voice effect, the rhymes, and the flow: they simply don't appeal to me.

Flowin Prose is sick.
Crawlspace is not. Adrock's verse is a nice novelty, but the rest of it is meh. It would never escape the shadow of 3-minute rule without some serious effort, and then it would sound too contrived.
Just not my cup of tea.
