Do you think it is possible we may experience it in our lifetime?

The U.S. talking about using bunker busters/tactical nukes

Fears of terrorism and nukes

Smaller more volatile nations using nukes (ie: Israel)

The regulation and limitation on nations attempting to go nuclear

what is the deal?

Why do we still fear (and unfortunately consider using or hold em as trump cards) when we know these things are evil as fuck

It's mind boggling to know it's closer than we think!

I'm disgusted to know that men have the power to unleash such horror....and more so against the will of the masses

who is right? who is wrong?

I saw some writer saying that it's very likely that in the end humanity eventually will pretty much be wiped out by self-inflicted nuclear war. I think he might be right. Maybe not in our lifetime though.

Dinosaurs will rule the earth again!

Colonization of space could be the solution.

Even if the Earth is blown to smithereens, if we have viable outposts in other parts of the Solar System / Galaxy, at least humanity would survive in some form.....

Maybe

President:

Well I... I would hate to have to decide.. who stays up and.. who goes down.

Dr. Strangelove:

Well, that would not be necessary Mr. President. It could easily be accomplished with a computer. And a computer could be set and programmed to accept factors from youth, health, sexual fertility, intelligence, and a cross section of necessary skills. Of course it would be absolutely vital that our top government and military men be included to foster and impart the required principles of leadership and tradition. Naturally, they would breed prodigiously, eh? There would be much time, and little to do. But ah with the proper breeding techniques and a ratio of say, ten females to each male, I would guess that they could then work their way back to the present gross national product within say, twenty years.

General Turgidson:

Doctor, you mentioned the ration of ten women to each man. Now, wouldn't that necessitate the abandonment of the so called monogamous sexual relationship, I mean, as far as men were concerned?

Dr. Strangelove:

Regrettably, yes. But it is, you know, a sacrifice required for the future of the human race. I hasten to add that since each man will be required to do prodigious... service along these lines, the women will have to be selected for their sexual characteristics which will have to be of a highly stimulating nature.

General DeSadeski:

I must confess, you have an astonishingly good idea there, Doctor.

well you never know, nuclear war could still be possible. i'm sure if Bush decided to get a little trigger happy like the idiot he is and dropped a nuke or 2 on russia i'd guarantee Putin wouldn't hesistate to blow the shit out of america

There will not be a nuclear war in our lifetimes.

Beings mutated from Nuclear waste?

There's always a chance that we might one day see the return of nuclear dinosaurs. We fail to realize that they exist right now. We can only hope that with sufficient wisdom and a whole pot of good luck, dinosaurs won't all disappear at once.
