i totally agree with this point BUT i do think it's a classic tho. it's one of those that people think if i drop illmatic other people will think i know what i'm talking about

I see what you mean, the worst thing for me is the fact that I like the album version of 'It ain't hard to tell' and it would seem that's the worst one to like.

Yeah, I like some songs too, but I just don't see it as "the" hip hop album, like some make it out to be.

It's like every Nas album to me:

The good stuff is mind-blowing, but the rest is just filler. And it's 50/50 at best.

No way, I love it. It flows brilliantly. Nas is unreal on Illmatic. There are two above average songs and the rest are golden.
