If it makes you feel any better I'm in an oven at the moment. This house has no air conditioning (despite the fact that it was advertised with it, and we were told it would be in before we moved in almost 2 months ago...along with a few other things) and it heats up after a few days - aussie summer days get up to 40C+ (104F). Its the fucking bane of my existance at the moment. We're going to apply for compensation and considering breaking the lease if it comes to it, which we've been told we are allowed to do because the place was advertised with a/c. The agents told us, in fact they made it sound like it was booked in for like the next day, when there was actually no plans at all, obviously. Grrrrrr. I always think at least when you're cold you can always warm up, maybe not with frost on the inside of the window tho  Do some excersise, like some push up and stuff, that'll warm you up and you'll get fit (y)

but it's 2 in the morning
i'm wearing a heavy coat and it's helping, but man, this is no what i needed right now, i tell you this
it's such a kick in the balls, because usually the heat in this apartment is turned up so wonderfully high, because it's technically an on campus residence and we don't get charged for utilities, it's all part of the housing bill. so it's like, my one chance at free heat, and it's wasted because my window is retarded.
i'm really not sure how this happened, because when i left, it was also winter, but my room was quite toasty, and i haven't touched the window since. something must have happened over the break.

I <3 your avatar, Bob. There, that should warm the cockles of your heart. (y)

thanks all the same though

i'm nearly positive that the heat's still on, because i didn't feel cold until i came into my bedroom (the apartment has a common room and four bedrooms, i was comfortable in the common room, though i didn't check the window). however, my roommates have been tampering with the heating system. the way it works is (since heating is free with the housing bill), we basically only get two degrees of freedom, we can only adjust the heat by two degrees, and to do so requires us to make a phone call, it's kind of dumb. so, since we can't adjust the thermostat, we've been fooling it. apparently it's been fairly cold in here for a while (i wouldn't know, i've been home all winter break, just got back today), so my roommate hung a bag of ice cubes up near the metal panel that apparently serves as the sensor for the thermostat. but then it got too hot, so now we've taken the bag of ice cubes off and held a lighter up to the panel for a little while to get the heat to switch off and not boil us alive or something, i don't know, all i know is there's frost on the inside of my window and that's ridiculous
update! i just checked the window of the common room, there's frost on that, too, what the fuck
i may be a snowman when next you hear from me, so it's been nice knowing you just in case
what i wouldn't give for some cooler weather right now.
There is always room in Bob's bed.

lol, tampering with the a/c using ice cubes and lighters, that's probably not gonna help...
oh well, tommorow they'll just say it's busted, the repair man will come out and say "did someone put ice cubes on this?" and everyone will shake their heads and look all innocent ;)
