grrrr (http://www.rottentomatoes.com/news/comments/?entryid=282665)
I can't get over all the love that movie's getting. It was so.... meh. The performances....meh.
AND Joaquin beats Jeff Daniels, which is, frankly, a sin.
I liked Ledger's performance so so slightly more than Seymour Hoffman's, but I can't begrudge Phil a bit. It's a great job.

So I was reading this morning about how WTL won the Golden Globe for Best Musical or Comedy film. Okay, fine, I'm alright with that. But then it said that one of the films it beat for this award was Pride and Prejudice.
Since when is Pride and Prejudice a musical or a comedy????

I'm still waiting for most of those films to be shown here. I'm gonna see a preview of Brokeback Mountain in a fortnight and I saw Proof and Pride and Prejudice at Stockholm Filmfestival. I'm really looking forward to Walk the line and Capote. Squid and whale? What the heck is that?

Best -- or at least, my favorite -- thing I saw last year.
Brooklyn family; mom and dad separate and arrange joint custody of the kids, bouncing them back and forth across the park. Each kid takes a different parent's side. Wickedly funny.
Jeff Daniels, Laura Linney, Jesse Eisenberg, Owen Kline, Anna Paquin, William Baldwin.

Sounds interesting! btw anybody seen Thumbsucker? I think that was my favourite film last year.
Last Sunday I had an opportunity to see a film that isn't finished yet, Walk the talk (http://imdb.com/title/tt0462601/). It was alright, but somehow seeing a Millencollin sticker and Division of Laure Lee poster on the kid's walls didn't make it more real.

...kind of creepy to see her get it on with Jeff Daniels.... not just because of the age difference, but because he played her dad in Fly Away Home.

i've always liked her since i saw her in that movie. totally underated as far as young female actresses go. she is sort of under the "popular" radar and plays a very cure rogue in x-men (y)

She doesn't have a huge amount to do in this one, but she's good in it.
God, it's a good movie. I hope it gets Oscar nominations so they re-release it around here.
I think it's still in Berkeley, but that's too far to go for a movie I've already seen.
