I was browsing the Sandbox website and I saw they had a Beastie Boys single for "Shadrach". I bought it ($12). Turns out it was a bootleg. (http://sandbox.pair.com/test12a.html) <-- on this page - Here is the cover --> http://www.beastiemania.com/discog/images/shadrach12boot2-front.jpg

So them I saw the Country Mike's Greatest Hits LP (http://sandbox.pair.com/abstract/cn005.html). I bought it ($20). Turns out it was a bootleg. (see Country Mike's Greatest Hits 12" : [CN 005] (Bootleg) on Beastiemania page).

I got the "Beastie Show Breaks" CD which I know isn't legit but still...

What the FUCK??

You Beastie Boys, if you are reading this, you should sue there asses off for ripping off your fans. I am going to thank them for selling me illegal bootlegs and see how that goes over..

Actually, you should do your homework before you buy anything Beastie related. There is so much bootlegged stuff available.

Yes it was, it was quite a really big fish. I had the 500 buck for the buy now function, but I let it get past the $288 reserve and the buy now disappeared on me. It went for over $480. I could still kick myself for not taking advantage of the buy it now option.

True but I didn't think a well known hip hop site like Sandbox Automatic would do something like that and when I saw those records for that cheap, I jumped on it faster than a fat kid with cake in front of him.

Looking at the groove for "Your Sister's Def" looks like it has a hole in it. I bet this skips. wtf? I have the original cassette of the "Shadrach, Mewhatever, Abegnego"...

Does the bootleg CD of Country Mike's Greatest Hits sound like it was recorded from vinyl? or was it mastered from the original source?

I also have the bootleg copy of Country Mike that i found in a record store. Doesn't matter to me much though, I don't care about owning the original version....I just like having the music. Not that i want to screw the boys or something, but I don't ever buy stuff like that and I figured I might as well have it to listen to.

Sandbox Automatic sells heaps of bootlegs, everyone does. Amazon, HMV, Borders etc.

The Country Mike bootleg CD is a bootleg of the 12" bootleg :p

n00b should be happy u got your hands on them. First of all the cover for shadrack original is completely different then the black cover on the bootleg, and you would have had half a prayer to get a country mike OG red vinyl. I bought both the bootlegs and was very happy. Both are exact copies from the original vinyl so who gives a shit?

I'm pretty sure that was a vinyl only release dood. Never seen or even heard of a cassette release. The cover looks like this

Shake Your Rump/Hey Ladies did come out on cassette. That one came in a cardboard case. But no Shadrach on cassette that I've ever heard of.

Also, sandbox automatic is a good operation. I've been buying shit from them since the mid 90s.

Really? I would love to get some pics/etc for the Discography.
There is a Promo CD5 and a few 7"s and a 12", but I don't remember ever seeing a cassette version.

Whoah. Yeah post up some pics. Is the tracklisting different? Some of the other singles are different depending on which format it came out in.

Yep - just got the pics (thanks). Look for the finished product up on Beastiemania in one of the next site update.

This one is in a card sleeve - so Jimmy, if you have a plastic case edition - we want to hear from you too!

Thanks!

Ah! sorry, I thought you meant you had a Shadrach cassette (not a HeyLadies cassette)
