That's right, some more nature pics. This forest is near my home town, where I spent the Christmas break.

These are all of the Tarra River.

Some misty wet sclerophyll forest action.

This tree is Mountain Ash (Eucalyptus regnans) , with Riley standing next to it. They were the biggest trees in the world, and still could be if the loggers could keep their grubby little hands to themselves.

My favorite tree species, Myrtle Beech (Nothofagus cunninghamii)

Okay now, I know I'm no the only one that raised an eyebrow at this.

Nice pictures, Scotty. I like the misty one a lot. And the one with your boy next to it.

Wow!
You can feel the humidity in the pictures!

I hope that some time in this life I will be able to touch one of those huge trees, here's only a few oaks (Quercus robur) that can grow that thick, but they ain't close that tall.
I still have to things I want to do before I die; see the world's oldest tree in New Zeeland and collect a leaf of the tree buddha sat under (aparently they don't even reach the ground before the pilgrims pick them, it's illegal to take leaves from the tree...).

When it comes to latin; they weren't so shy in the olden days (http://www.plantoftheweek.org/week043.shtml)....
