Post pictures of two things you'd like to decide between, or get a vote on.

Which dress do you think is best, in general - for dates, weddings, parties;

nah. i'm like...light brownish.

i still say the first one. i was implying that that dress would suit brunettes, which is why i said "last time i check... etc etc"

I think it kind of depends on your personality. The top one is a little sexier, the bottom one is a little more "good girl". If it were me, I'd pick the top one.

Yeah, I'm marrying a woman like that.

But I'm ugly.

But I'll make people laugh.

But I don't trim my sideburns.

But I'm considerate.

But I'm a loner.

But I'm worth knowing.

i think it depends on your body shape. if you have large breasts, the top one will look better on you. i seem to remember you're waif-like, so i'd go for the second one. i'm sure that's what trinny and susanna would advise.

I like the top of the bottom one, but the rest of it is cut like a bridesmaid dress and seems kind of old fashioned. The top one looks more fun. and halters are nice and flattering on most everyone.

As opposed to the good girl thing? Probably. And I was talking about personality anyway, not necessarily looks.

Nuzzolese
01-18-2006, 11:59 AM
I think of myself as an old-fashioned good girl who is sexy. Do you think either of them could work for a summer afternoon? I'm looking for versatility.

I'd rather have Qdrop in the room than Dr. Phil. Qdrop gets all sweaty and hyper.

cosmo105
01-18-2006, 01:01 PM
i have one a lot like the top one, but i don't dig the ruffles in the middle. makes it look sorta hoochie. and the second one is nice, but what's with the straps continuing under the rack? IN CONCLUSION, i'll agree with the sarkster: halter tops look nice on just about everyone. very flattering to the shoulder/neck area. i'd say stick with the first.

mickill
01-18-2006, 01:01 PM
I still think the first one. Or something simlar, in a nice silk shantung, perhaps. In cinnabar or any deepish red. Black works too, of course.

avignon
01-18-2006, 01:08 PM
I like the second one because no matter what event you go to, someone else will be wearing a dress similar to the top one. It's a standard.

Nuzzolese
01-18-2006, 01:17 PM
The ruching one is outdated, hoochie and too common? I thought it looked kind of Marilyn Monroe-ish.

The other one is weird fabric and looks like a bridesmaid's dress? I thought it looked classy and retro.

Maybe I shouldn't take either.

cosmo105
01-18-2006, 01:22 PM

theres a flaw in this. depending on the body type, you can only really wear one or the other. unless you're really thin, tall and skinny with relatively small boobies. then you can wear both.

http://www.whitehouseblackmarket.com/productimages/300102561.jpg

this is the sexy choice. it's like.. hey.. im a woman. with boobies. i think every girl with marilyn aspirations has this dress. it is ALMOST universally flattering, unless you are either completely flat chested or your tits are bigger (individually) than your waist.

http://www.whitehouseblackmarket.com/productimages/300103206.jpg

this is the docile, im a good girl dress. not flattering if your boobs are big. not flattering if you have a belly. pretty dress.

ummm... i wouldnt really buy either dress. theyre too cliched.

It's silly how expensive designer dresses are, because most of them are so simple and delicate and no better manufactured than cheaper ones. But I don't know why it's so hard to find cheap simple dresses. All the affordable stuff has to have some stupid pattern or they add on a bunch of crap sequins or beads or totally unncessary trim.

hpdrifter

I don't like the lacy one as much. I think a girl of your body type could wear it, I just don't think its all that cute of a dress.

Yeah, but the contributions to fashion made by Brits easily rivals that of the US. And as a country, they probabbly tend to dress a lot better than Americans do. Just sort of in general

Canada, on the other hand...hmm, our major beneficences to fashion have more or less been limited to ROOTS.
