Thought this might be a bit of fun. What do you consider, currently on TV, the best, an worst, for the following
Live Action TV Shows
Animated TV Shows
Feel free to try to systematically and uncaringly subjugate through uncivilized feats of violence your picks for the best to other.
I'll start:
Best Live Action TV Shows: Arrested Development, Cheap Seats, House, Flavor Of Love, The O.C., Late Night With Conan O' Brien, The Daily Show, Best Week Ever, Attack Of The Show, Daily Download, Beauty And The Geek, X-Play, Degrassi: The Next Generation, South Of Nowhere, Instant Star, Saturday Night Live, MAD TV
Worst Live Action TV Shows: Hmmm, can't really think of any live action shows I actually hate. Well, besides Desperate Housewives.
Best Animated TV Shows: Family Guy, American Dad, South Park, The Simpsons, Aqua Teen Hungerforce, Harvey Birdman: Attorney At Law, The Boondocks, Robot Chicken
Worst Animated TV Shows: Squidbillies, 12 Oz. Mouse, Tom Goes To The Mayor, Drawn Together

I hated 12oz mouse the first time I watched it. After you watch it a few times, it kinda grows on you. Same with squidbillies too. I must admit it wasn't as good as i hoped, but it's still good for a laugh and for something different. When you spend as much time watching cartoons as me, you begin to take anything new as good ;) The new family guys are ok, but they have lost the charm of the first series if you ask me. American Dad is just ok too. Don't get me wrong I still watch them all, but my favourites would be ATHF, Sealab (althought it's finished) and Harvey Birdman (that should go without saying ;) look up^). I don't watch live action, and I'm yet to see an animated show that I've hated. So there ya go. Oh, I almost forgot, Lucy Daughter of the Devil - showing huge potential from the pilot.

I just barely got into Harvey Birdman the other night...fuck, that show is genius. Plus, Stephen Colbert does some voices on it, how could i not love it?
I think I have a board crush on tracky.

What is it that people see in this Arrested Development show? Over the past few months I've read here and in a couple of other places how it has this big following, people thinkit's realy great, yada yada yada. So when I was flying to the US inDecember, on the plane, one of the entertainment options was that they had the first 4 episodes available. So I said "OK great, now I can finally see this show that everyone says is so funny."
Well, I watched two episode and I have to say, I was distinctly unimpressed. OK yeah, there were a couple of amusing moments, but overall, I thought it rather lacklustre and forgettable. I certaily didn't feel moved to watch the rest of them. Why do people like this show? Because I really didn't see anything all that compelling in it at all.
Lost will be my best/favourite.
Supernatural seems like a show i could watch regularly.
there's way too many "worst" shows out there to list.

It took me three years to like this show. My best friend was obssessed with it, and I watched it a few times and just never "got" it. That's one problem this show has going for it, it has all these crazy ass storylines and jokes that reference other jokes and other episodes, so if you've missed those, then you don't know what the hell is going on.
However, once I started Tivoing it and watching it regularly, I soon caught on to the genius. It is, honestly, a genius show. You should try perhaps to watch it from the beginning, because out of context some of the episodes, etc. are weird and not as funny on the surface. It's just so damn good though once you get into it.

Its gotta be lost for my fave - am not really interested in anything on telly at the minute if it doesnt involve survivors of a plane crash on a strange island.
Although - Scrubs is good and am getting into curb your enthusiasm. Tried watching that Invasion as well but after a good start i am losing interest.
Ive seen two episodes of My name is Earl and that made me laugh a lot.
The worst thing on British TV is You Are what you Eat which for anyone who doesnt know is awful. This silly scottish woman helps change people's diets and gets them to poo in a tub and then analyses it but they show you the poo! Its mingin'.

i don't know what to say so i'll just do this :o
and yeah you've definately gotta see Arrested Development from the start to get it. Which you did. So why didn't you?! It's fucking hilarious! But at the same time I can see why it was cancelled, cause it does rely on the story line a lot, all the little twists and tie-ins which make it great, but they can't really keep the story going forever. I liked the first season much better than the second, which I didn't even watch in order or entirely. I'll watch em all eventually, when winamp decides it's time :p (random)

oh man, that tom goes to the mayor is probably the worst cartoon i have ever seen in my life. i was so mad when they took off mission hill to play that crap on adult swim when i would watch it all the time...
american dad is pretty much shit too. they try and play off the family guy type gags but don't do it right.
animated favorites would include: sealab 2021, harvey birdman, the venture brothers, and mission hill
live action favorites are: the office, nip/tuck

-- also, I think that watching it on an airplane would kill it. SOOO much of the humor is stuff that's going on in the margins and background which kind of comments on the foreground stuff.
It's a really great show that's sort of winking by looking like a hugely banal sitcom, and then just sort of inflating all of that until you swear it's going to explode, and then dragging that on for all it's worth.
I dig it. B+.

No, I...wasn't being bitchy...it's what Colbert says...nevermind.
i kinda like tom goes to the mayor, if only because it's got some mr. show people on it (bob odenkirk and brian posehn for example, who are just plain funny anyway).

best dramas: law and order and E.R. (which are the only dramas i watch anyway)
worst shows: soap operas, most lifetime shows (like the nanny, etc).....

The Daily Show
Colbert Report
Mythbusters
Dirty Jobs
Survirvorman
Family Guy
American Dad
Futurama
Samurai Champloo
The Boondocks
FLCL
Full Metal Alchemist
And I'd watch anything else on Adult Swim for the most part.
Everything else is crap....
I reserve the right to say other stuff isn't crap if I have forgotten to place it on my list.
The Office aswell, they are actually playing it on the PBS. The ORIGINAL show, not the American crapped out version.

I didn't know they were playing it on PBS, sweet! Saturday nights or something?
The American version is really good, give it a chance. I thought it would suck but it's awesome. People need to get over their whole "oh, i watched the "original" and I'm so much better"

Well, I watched the American version on the plane (as well) and I have to say that it was not nearly as bad as I expected, it does have its moments. But, the original is still definitely better.

I think the original is a lot more real than the American one, that's true. The whole feel to it is more real, the awkwardness, everything. American version is more of a sitcom, but still hilarious.

Exactly, and why watch the American "version" when you can get the cow for free....
