when he says "uno, dos, tres, catorce"
he's really saying "one, two, three, fourteen"
I don't get that

I'm assuming because "catorce" has a better ring to it, then "cuatro"
My favorite U2 song would be something like "With Or Without You" or "I Will Follow." "New Year's Day" is high up there, too...

One. Maybe.
Too bad they haven't made anything worth listening to since Achtung Baby.
In my opinion.

I agree with this with the exception of a song here or there -- most notably Stay (but that's practically "son of One" so maybe it doesn't matter).
My favorite song is possibly Trip Through Your Wires or one of the other songs on the second side of Joshua Tree.

My favorite song of U2 is Sometimes you can't make it on your own, it helps me to recover of depressions and I love how Bono sings it on stage.

That's a BOLD statement there, let me suggest you go listen to;
"In a little while" off of "All that you can't leave behind"
The night Johnny Ramone died, this album had just been released and he was listening to it in his room, together with his family. He died in the middle of this particular song being played.
I don't like the direction the band has taken after that achtung baby. Bono annoyes the piss out of me.
It sucks to say but I think they could release the best album in the world ever and it would still make me cringe.

Bullet The Blue Sky has to be my favorite U2 track, then New Year's Day, followed by With Or Without You.

I Will Follow
Shadows and tall trees(y)
These mean a lot to me, after seeing U2 the first time way back then and The Edge following behind me on the stairs when me and my friend were gonna take some photos I was singing I will follow without thinking...
Also I like all the ones Alexandra mentioned, and my other favourites are Trash, Trampoline and the party girl, Running to a stand still, Daddy's gonna pay for your crashed car (also a live gig memory) and of course 11 o´clock tick tock as I bought it the week it was released.

Yup.
they've made some great, great music. I remember having a listening party when Joshua Tree first came out, and we were all just so, so happy.
But now... I can't wait 'til I can hear his voice again and not just cringe.
You mean "40"??????
If so, then hell yes! No U2 concert is complete without it.
No, I mean "Like a Song".

I did not know this about Johnny.
With or Without You is U2's very best song.

I did not know this about Johnny.
It was actually Joey Ramone (in early '01) and I believe the last song was "In A Little While" off that U2 album was the exact point when he passed on.
Johnny died in '04.
