I know Drum n Bass isn't the main dish here, but what do you think? It's all original except for the old skool breaks and the lyrics of course.

Are you looking for constructive criticism? I just found out about the a capellas and this is opening my eyes.
I don't do remixes at all, I'm just a listener, so I don't know if it's fair for me to critique remixes. But I just know what I like.
As for your remix, I was impressed with the fast-paced drum beats and the change ups. It sounds nice. But the only thing that hurt my ears was that there was too much complex and overly energetic "noise" or drumbeats during the vocal rapping parts. Maybe it's just because I'm 40 years old... but I guess your mix would be good to dance to. But for pure listening pleasure, it's a little too hyper for me in some spots. I almost prefer silence when the BBs are singing, because they do some way cool stuff that hardly needs background sounds. I see now that's where MMM has the art nailed.
But again, nice work... I give it 3/4 stars...
Is that the kind of feedback that people who post remixes want? It's not like I have something better than you do... just giving my opinion. And glad it's here.

That was exactly what people are after for feedback mate.
Oh and this mix rules, different and really well produced - thought it fitted really well and very good fx and beats. (y) (y) (y)

I'm a huge fan of crazy distorted synth lines and this one is amazzzing. You got any inspirations that feed your madness? This mix is très good, might be nice to go freak out on X to at a rave.

First off, thanks guys for the positive FB. I would have to say that my inspirations for this style come from guys like Roni Size, (3IE), Dom & Roland...etc. I like to try to keep it changing and quick and still have some sort of funkiness to it. This was my first try so it taught me a few things and I had to adjust my style to fit their bar structure. All synths, horns, sound efx and basslines were recorded from hardware and all the signal processor efx were standard MOTU plug-ins. I didn't really listen to the original track at all while I was working on the remix. I had heard it a year earlier but didn't really remember it. I think the lyrics have a whimsical old-school style to them that, in the original, fits well with the updated/modern versions of old-school sounds used in the track. My version, is more about using old break beats and old-school style lyrics combined with a relatively new style of synth bass.

Great beats, although it didn't start off too well, the first verse didn't seem to synch.

Yeah, I know it is a little loose. I think doubling the rhythm tempo worked in almost all the verses except the first. I really tried messing with it a lot. Including slicing the vocal track into little pieces. By little, I mean less than 1/4 bar in that spot. It has something to do with the differing styles of inflection and accent. Compared to the attacks of the MCA & Mike D vocals, where I could easily find a spot to sync, that first Adrock verse was much trickier.
