Hey guys, just wanted some information on the above topic. Lately I've been obssessed with d/l'ing everything shadow outside of his studio stuff.

first up, about a month ago i stumbled upon the Brainfreeze. Wow, I can only imagine what the live performance must have been like. Does anyone have this that would like to tell which cut is the Shadow cut and which is the Cut Chemist one?

Also, I just d/l'ed Funky Skunk. A bunch of you guys were fretting that DJ Shadow was getting involved in southern rap. Well, I listened to this and still dont' know whether I hate this. the shadow beats are top notch. however once you mix it with dumbass lyrics and derivative rappers it starts to lose its meaning.

What other stuff do you recommend by the Shadow? Do you recommend Diminishing Returns?

Haven't heard Funky Skunk or Diminishing Returns. I think Organ Donor is his most awesome track, its about minute 21 on the Brainfreeze One, then theres a live and studio version. In Tune and on time is cool as are the two Product Placements and the Private Repress.

I've got "freeze" (they had to rename it and remove THAT track) on dvd (converted from the vhs) quite cool. I recomend diminishing returns....but then I recomend anything by DJ Shadow. Also got "product placement" and "in tune and on time" on dvd. The product placement dvd mixes between all the shows they did around the world.

Funky skunk is sketch but still quite good. The mans always changing.

A quick search in foobar for "dj shadow" tells me I have 2 days 5 hours of his stuff :)

OK I got Diminishing Returns the other day.....and boy, it is quite a ride. Think of it like a Peel Sessions for DJ Shadow and that barely covers it.

Also, I gave Funky Skunk a few more spins and now I've warmed up to it.
