Happy birthday, Fast Eddie. (y)
81 years old. Whoa.
He was just in San José, too. Did a few trial laps for the race we had here.

Lots of quality, there. You forgot some too. He plays different roles well.
Happy birthday, old goat.
San Jose with the accent always seems to me should refer to Costa Rica.

....yeah.
The city council or whoever decided they want the accent on there so that we realize we have a history. But sometimes they use it, sometimes they don't. I kinda like it.
Anyway. Paul Newman. Yeah.
Actually, I almost put Road to Perdition on there; I think it's one of his five or six best performances on film. Mr. and Mrs. Bridge is good, too.

I really liked him a lot as Sully Sullivan, but I'm going to go with Shaw or Luke just to be original.
Also, no Tom Hanks character should be permitted to put bullets in a Newman character ever, in any film, ever.

...that was pretty powerful, actually. Made me think of that line from Miller's Crossing: "The old man's still an artist with a Tommy gun."
I thin that's largely to Mendes' credit. (y)
