but excuses are made day in and day out about the rising price of oil/gas/natural gas

they should just come out and say "hey we're greedy, now suck it up"

oh and war-profiteering Haliburton is also busting at the seams....sharing little information on HOW and WHAT's to show for their work.

Hah, excellent, you sure it's not the war?

Saw a special on The Daily Show, hilarious.

yeah, let start regulating how much profits oil companies can make,

then we can limit the profits musicians can make off of their music,

and then the grocery stores and bananas,

and the casinos and gaming profits,

and pornographers and their profitable dvds,

......

yeah, lets just limit how much anybody can make a profit

minus the groceries, what you listed are things people want

who wants oil? gas? natural gas? it is unfortunatlely a necessity for most...to survive, to keep the economy going, to exist.

the excuses made don't coincide with the bragging we see every quarter

"oh, it's Katrina!"

"oh it's the war!"

"oh it's peak oil!"

ad naseum

the inflation of oil affects everything.....but hey, nobody can make a disgusting profit when they have everything to blame

Don't blame me. I ain't bought no gas lately.

That's how I regulate them, since it's kind of silly to suggest our government has the power to regulate them. Our government was basically appointed by the oil industry.

people need toothpast but the price of that profits that can be made are not regulated
people with vision issues need contacts/glasses but the profits that can be made off those are not regulated
women need tampons at specific times of the year yet the profits that can be made off those are not regulated

who is to decide what are "enough" profits that a company may make?
if you remove the profit motive, then why would businesses want to grow, invest in itself (which creates additional jobs), why would investors want to make their money grow if the companies they invest in are limited to how much profit they can make? if a company is limited to how much profits it can make, what incentive does it have to tap into new markets, create new technology?

since you are so concerned with how much profits oil companies make, are you equally as concerned when they don't make profits, such as back in the 80s when oil was getting its butt kicked??
