I finally got myself a job!
I'm gonna be working at a daycare center (ironically), or three actually. I'm gonna be the chief gardener. First and foremost my task is to plan and help to build a greenhouse and then teach the kids about growing stuff. I thought it was gonna be just a short assignment, but it turns out it's for two years! I have to plan the greenhouse so it can be used during wintertime as well. The centers are into recycling and teaching the kids to be creative, they were practising a play when I was there for an interview, and there was loads of paints and beads and chrystals and stuff in the activities room! I wanted dive into the beadjars straight away!
They have a little allotment in the yard, which a landscape designer had planned. And as they don't have any practical knowledge about gardening or growing things I could see the faults in it straight away. The "boss" at the center was so pleased she'd found someone who knew all that stuff! And my photgraphy skills are gonna be in use as well, I have to document everything and even teach the others how to use photoshop.
so Yay! for me!

That sounds like an awesome job! Are you gonna teach them about composting? My kids love seeing "trash" turn into dirt, then using it in the garden.

The first day was more like a general meeting which they have every year with all three daycare centers, so I got to meet just about everyone who works there at one go. I won't meet the kids until tomorrow. They have been studying composting and maggots already so they're on the way already. They've had a "maggotfarm", two glasses with just 5 cm inbetween so they could study how they ate up all the material and baby maggots were born and stuff. So tomorrow could be a tough day meeting the kids the first time.... :o

i'm sure you'll do great!

starting a greenhouse would be really cool. especially if the kids could learn to grow their own veggies and such, or flowers to take back to mum.

Yeah I hope it'll be alright. I'm also trying to grow edible flowers and our own Halloween pumpkin. I have to start sowing tomatoes pretty soon so they will ripe in time.
I just hope everything can grow in peace, today during the meeting some kids were throwing snowballs on the windows, so it would be no wonder if they'll throwing stones in glasshouses.... :o  :(

I won't even get an access to a computer for ages!
So far I was playing sudoku for a couple of hours, had a few coffee breaks and then made houses for cats and dinosaurs, read Red Ridinghood twice and made bead necklaces....
