So my car got broken into Friday night, they smashed the passenger side window, ripped out my radio as well as tore up my dash and took all 200 of my CDs that I had under the seat. I am totally bumbed and feel really violated. I am trying to put things into prospective, no one was hurt and it's all material things that can be replaced but it still sucks. The main thing I am pissed about is all my music...has anyone ever been in this situation?

Yours,
bummed and music-less.

they just stole the cd players FACE.
Same shit happened to me.
And this was the day I decided to put my top 10 favorite cds in the car.
They also made off with some library books I had.

My broad got her car broken into on her birthday and they took one of those big ass cd carrying cases.

Its retarded to keep that many cds in your car to begin with....but still....it blew cockler.

*knocks wood*

I've never had it happen, but I've always been diligent about not leaving anything in my car. I used to cart around the damn removeable stereo, then the faceplate, then I got one of those faux fac plates that looks like a crappy ass stereo. Now, I just leave the stock stereo in there.

Living in the city, it's always the people visiting from the burbs who seem to get burglarized.

Karma's a bitch, though, so count on this person gettin some rank rock, at best, for your stuff.

It makes your blood boil doesn't it?

I had an attempted break in to my car the other week - the broke the lock on the drivers side with a screwdriver by the looks of it and scratched the hell out of the door but they didn't get in...perhaps they were disturbed or something. Anyway foolishly i contacted my insurance company who have since raised my monthly premium because when i took out the insurance i said that my car would be garaged at night...which 9 times out of 10 it is - i occasionally forget. Grrrrrr.

I think what upset me more though was the thought of someone snooping round the back of my house to get to my car whilst i was in bed.

I can understand feeling violated. Our house got broken into once when I was a kid and it really freaked me out. The police took prints and there were full handprints all over my window.

That sucks, dude. I hope your insurance gets your back.

Yup....I had 2 of those big ass cd carrying cases. They got about 200 of them. Damn.

When I filed the police report they told me because of my age it would be smarter to handle it on my own then to get insurance involved because my rates may go up.

My car was parked about 2 blocks away from my apartment on a busy street across from a bightly lit gas station. I have no clue how no one saw, go figure.

my favorite car jack story involves my sister, and me indirectly.

after I graduated high school I got a shit ton of money so I decided the lavish unnecessary peice of equipment I would buy would be a $650 Kenwood Exceleon deck. They have flip faces and all sorts of security shit and unessential bells and whistles. The car I purchased a few years down the road had too narrow of a dash for it to fit into so I couldnt install it. I gave it to my little sister to put in her car.

About a year later, she got her car broken into, and was upset because the deck and a cd wallet got taken. She was moreso about the player itself since most of the cds were burned.

Now, the hilarious part? Any time the cars battery terminal is disconnected, or even if the battery dies, the cd player would prompt for a 4 digit passcode. Kenwood wont help you for shit to reset it, unless you're an authorized dealer, or have the serial, date of purchase, etc etc.

Basically, whoever took it got a $650 paperweight that opens, asks for a code, and says goodbye when their three guesses were wrong.

Bunch of savages in this town.

Somebody broke into my car and stole my faceplate 2 days before Christmas last year. I suggest you get a MP3 player in your car so you only have to carry a couple of CDs. I can probably help you replace some of your CDs.

my friend's car stereo got stolen once during a party we had. he was parked just off of milwaukee at a meter where people and cops are always around. I suppose it was awfully late though.

Did "somebody" dump the car on the railway tracks just out of town as well, Jimmy?

By the way, how's that new condo in the Cayman Islands working out for you?

At least they left you the car.

I've had my stereo along with various other components involuntarily "removed" from my car before, as well. But nothing stings more than when they take the whole car along with your valuables. I swear, if I ever actually see someone trying to steal my car, I'm going to throw a brick at their spine.

I can empathize with you.

I'm going to throw a brick at their spine.

wow, that produced some imagery!

This last October around Halloween, an 18 year and two minors old broke my car, tried to steal it, stole the stereo (luckily the police recuperated that with my Eels CD that was in it), and stole my MiniDisk player (which wasn't found). The 18 year old is on trial, when? yeah, tomorrow. we'll see what happens ...

sorry for you! you know you'd have plenty of support from us on the boards for some ass-kick'n! ;)

one time my friends passenger side window got busted open by a brick. the only thing they stole from it was $10 worth of quarters that were sitting in a dish inbetween the seats.

then a week later he forgot to lock his doors. sombody stole his check book. i was just glad the didnt steal my movie that was sitting on the seat right in front of the person.

The same thing happened to me a couple years back when I went to see a Kool Keith show at the Trocadero on 12th and Arch in Philadelphia. It blew my mind that my shit was broken into right in an open lot.

You took the words out of my fingers: I felt violated. I lost my winter jacket and many CDs, including the first Handsome Boy Modeling School, Kool Keith's Spankmaster and my Wild Bunch collection. Plus my car had a brutally shattered window.

I don't care where in Philadelphia I am anymore. My shit's stashed regardless.

Hahaha, bit pathetic isn't it. I remember my mate's car got broken into about a year ago and all they took was her highschool leavers jacket, which had her name sewed into the back of it? Wat the hell seriously...who would want to steal a leavers jacket out of a car, when they could've stolen something just a tad more valuable. All I can think of is they had the same name as my mate and never graduated highschool, so they stole it to feel just that little more educated
