i think anyone would do it if given the chance
i mean, i don't personally provide the pirated material, but when someone gives it to you, you aren't going to say no.

I would need Excel and Photoshop, but as I have a registered business now so I don't dare to. I tried once to get Excel, but didn't succeed and haven't bothered to try again.
I have Avast antivirus, it beats Norton by miles!

Considering the fact that Quark costs £800+ I don't really have a choice.

No need to pirate with open source - get a decent OS instead and then do everything legal, better and cheaper. Would be my advice.

Except for all the games which are a nightmare to get running properly under linux / freeBSD... And then there is the hardware which isn't supported... And then there is the fact that a lot of the software has limited functionality... Etc etc.

I bought an official windows xp for about 20 us$, student license.
I try to get open source alternatives for most things but some programs don't come in free versions. You can go a long way with only free software though!

get cedega if you have linux - works great on mine. (in repsonse to aces reply)
They ask for a subscrption of £3.00 per month but they put the software on your computer so pay it once and cancel the subscription.
Gets away from evil Micro$oft and is worth the £3.
Sometimes have problem with patches (like 1.9 for WoW) but with a bit a messing you can sort it.
In other words, there has yet to be one obsticle that have come across that some1 hasn't made a fix for somewhere and the more people that use it, the better and more advanced OS will be. The longer people stay with windows as a choice, the further back the PC community is going to stay.
And even if they don't work, stull like VMWare (although struggles with high-end graphics) generally sorts your needs out.

You can't run just any game on it though. That's the main reason why my home machines are still mostly windows. I have windows on my laptop because it came with a license and I can't be bothered trying to get acpi to work on it. Not to mention the wireless connection, bluetooth, data over gsm etc etc etc.
It's ideal for an office machine though.

I downloaded a whole kilogram of cocaine once over soulseek, then I sold it for twice the street value. It came with the registration codes and everything.

Arghhh Matey!
i downloaded a hooker once but it gave me a virus now i get popups in my dreams
I find it's better to download hookers over a torrent client. It's more reliable that way and they usually use a condom.

I usually pirate software. No way im paying 100s of bucks for some of these stupid things. The only thing i believe in paying for is a good antivirus. Other than that, i wouldnt pay a dime for software.
I downloaded my laptop too. I had to burn it onto about 20 CD-Rs and then put it together, but it was worth it.

Buggy M$ sofware is not worth paying for. Also since I don't have other viable options I don't see why I should be able to get it for free.

I've paid for software before, usually small time people i don't my supporting by giving them my 20 bucks, like some audio software. These are the people that need the money.
I can;t stop thinking about Wave Plugins for Pro Tools and how I don't want to spend 1000 bucks on the suite cause that's WAY too much for a bedroom dj who wants to make quality stuff for his friends. One day I may go look...i just don't want to F up the rest of the stuff.

If you have a mac, you can have my cs1, I just got cs2 and I don't need it anymore.
Man, with the classes I take in college I straight up need packages that cost thousands of dollars when you total it. Our professors actually told us to go download pirated versions to use.
I figure I can buy the programs legit when I start making money from it.

I'm in school and our professors told us to get them online because we'll get a student discount. How much does cs2 sell for, I think it's around $1200? Well, I got online for $300. It's cool that they do that for students.

dude, one of the things I missed while living in Kuwait. You could see x-boxs there with a chip and you also get 20 free games all together for 85 dinar which is equal to about $300. Some of the games, you can get like a month before its actual release date.
I know you could get software around there for just about the same price.
You could also get dvd's prior till the actual release date of the dvd's but of course, you can see people getting up to get popcorn or to take a piss during watching it..
I've never bought any because I've heard that you can also buy some shit that may harm your computer or x-box or dvd player and I didn't want to take that chance.

I would buy software if they weren't so god damn expensive. Fucking crooks, MS are.
No doubt! Printing companies are just as bad. I spent $250 on five ink cartridges!

Yeah. I'm not quite sure why ink is so damn expensive. They get a thumbs down. (n) (n)

I once saw a deal on where I worked out that it would be cheaper to buy a whole new printer that came with ink than to buy the ink cartirdges seperately.
