When the people LEAST suited for psychology decide they're going to major in it and make it part of their career.

See, there's this "acquaintance" of mine; she's awful around other people. She treats them like shit, basically. I really don't understand why someone such as herself would even give psychological-whatever a thought. The girl's NEVER empathetic, lacks common sense...

Okay.. I'm done.

Psychologists usually work on themselves first.

Maybe she's going into it then because she feels like she knows what's best for others even if she doesn't.

Dumb.

I'd be an awesome therapist/psychiatrist btw.

Right. And many of them have their own issues, which is why they can RELATE in some way.

But this girl's, just, mean. And she thinks that's all right. She's HAPPY with the fact she's a bitch.

ive thought about psychology. i think its really interesting, ive read psych books for fun, i cant say ive really done that with anything else. but my communication skills are really lacking. the thing is i can relate to, i dont know how else to say it, but crazy people. the fact is ive got quite a few problems of my own and most of the friends ive ever had have as well (from abusive homes or neglectful homes, eating disorders, substance abuse, cutting, etc.)

i dont really trust myself with other people's well-being though. and some people just flat out annoy me, i mean what would i do if i got a patient that the whole time i just wanted to scream at them to SHUT THE FUCK UP. that woudlnt be good. so. yeah, i love psychology, but i think its best to not screw around with other peoples psychological state. especially when im so fucked up myself.

I've realised that alot of psychologists have had a pretty rough past...and decide to help others because they feel they've been through an awful lot themselves.

I'm majoring in human development not psychology. I am a bitch, yes but only when people disappoint me or betray me. I have some issues, true but I am willing to look past them to help other people.

Again, this wasn't directed at you.

This guy used to rent an office from me and practice counseling. And it was amazing, because he was the worst listener -- just the worst. And really insensitive, crossing boundries, etc. It just blew me away that counseling was his chosen profession.

This is 100% true. Every single psych major I ever knew was trying to fix their own self first and foremost. None of them were very stable people.

actually I've been told the opposite that I'm always giving advice but never getting/asking/taking any...and I'm pretty stable I mean I have yet to run up to random people at slap em with "the glory"
