Looks like GZA's going to be riding shotgun on this one and Ghost is only going to be featured on one or two tracks. 25 tracks are done and RZA's supposed to be selecting the best 13. RZA did most of the beats and Dre did two. Dilla did one and Scram Jones did one. Oh, and GZA's son did one. It's also executive produced by Busta Rhymes.
There's also an article in The Fader (http://thefader.com/blog/articles/2005/12/20/in-the-kitchen).
The songs he did with Busta and Pete Rock on his Vatican mixtape have been ridiculous, so I hope he keeps it up with the tracks on the album. Personally, I think it's going to be as good--if not better than Fishscale. That's my word, son.

Yeah, that's pretty much the sickest song Rae's had since like 1995. I'm hoping it's on the album. And that it's the worst song on the album.

Thank you for having some sense and good taste, Tzar. When this classic drops, you and I can just sit back and tell these onionheads how dumb they were for not respecting this "all new saga".
According to the Chef himself:
"We could never reinvent the same potion, but my whole thing is the storyline, the characters that play inside this film. I call it a film because I'm used to writing portraits. I'm not just a dude that writes a bunch of rhymes that have no demeanor to them."
Damn. Listen to this man's vocabulary.

They connected on some old fly shit, apparently.
Actually, they were hanging out in Rae's hotel room, if I'm not mistaken. Busta talked to Rae about doing a real sequel to Cuban Linx, and started telling him what kind of beats it should have etc. Rae asked him if he wanted to executive produce it for whatever reason, and just like that, one thing lead to another, yadda yadda yadda, boom, they put their heads together and they're making an album that's going to be better than Fishscale.

Yeah you read it right Part 2 of the cinematic, theaterical, criminology Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2 will have Maximillion aka. GZA and Rollie Fingers aka Inspecta Deck replacing Tony Starks. As was reported from the New Scratch Magazine. But dont be throwin hissy fits, This all falls on Tony Starks. After Ghostface's "Bulletproof Wallets" album Rae&Ghost were supposed to work on OB4CL-2, RZA gave them a lot of beats, but everybody had deadlines to meet with their own label and it wasn't unified as irt supposed to be so it was scratched.
The the beats RZA gave to Rae for OB4CL-2, Rae was planning on usin them for The RAGU album (Rae and Ghost United) but that album was too put on the shelves. So last Summer RZA called the Whole Wu-Tang to his new home he brought out in Southern California to work on a New Wu-Tang album everybody showed but Tony Starks, Cappadonna, U-God and Method Man. So GZA and Rae was in a zone and knocked out a few songs, GZA told RZA that he will do a Cuban Linx album with Rae and GZA told Rae too and he was down. RZA and Rae recorded 25 songs for OB4CL-2, with tracks from Dr. Dre, J-Dilla and Scram Jones that they are whittling down, and a Press Time there is no TONY STARKS APPERANCE ON THE ALBUM, he's working on his New Album "FISHSCALE" and promised an 11th hour contribution, he gave his word 2 RAE.
So on the OB4CL2 there will be a plot point that will be explain on the album how Rollie Fingers and Maximillion replaced tha brutish Tony Starks. GZA said he aint tryin to replace Iron Man. And Rae said this album is going to CRUSH THE FIRST ONE. RZA played some traccs off of OB4CL2 and said that he never play his music early, so you know im on a mission.

Update:
Raekwon’s management has told Wu-Tang Corp that the highly anticipated "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II" is almost finished, if not already finished. According to Raekwon’s management the production credits are shared 50/50 between Dr. Dre and RZA but the final tracklisting has yet to prove if it will be the end result.
The whole Wu-Tang Clan will appear on the album, with more guests still to be announced.

I obviously pulled the trigger a little early with this thread, but I think it's happening now.
And THIS (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jP1PliAiuc&eurl=http%3A%2F%2F2dopeboyz.okayplayer.com%2F&feature=player_embedded) is some vintage Wu. It easily could have come out during their heyday. It's like a lost track or something. YES, I am talking it up like that. They even went back and got Daniel Hastings (who did the art direction for 36 Chambers and Cuban Linx) to direct the video. My only comment is that Meth played the biggest part. He seriously kills it.

It's nice just seeing Rae, Ghost and RZA in a video together after the whole 8 Diagrams debacle throwing the W up. It feels like 95 again and Goddamn Meth kills it. Even if the album doesn't live up to expectations, this song far exceeded any I had before this song.

U-GOD FEAT GHOSTFACE KILLAH & SCOTTY WOTTY - TRAIN TUSSLE
is some fucking heat right there. personally i am looking forward to dopium and cl2 just the same. i honestly think cl2 is going to be dissapointing. (i hope i am really really wrong on this) but i just think the expectations and what cl1 means, and to try and do a continuation in 2009 just is a lot of pressure to really live up to.
ugod is one of my favorite in the clan and i dont think he gets the proper respect he deserves. hes never been commercially viable so i dont think he has anything to gain in that regard by trying to go that rout in 2009 and just is trying to put out fire to put out fire. if train tussle is any indication of that whole album i will be a very happy man.

Nice.
At first it wasn't sounding like it was going too good. But I think there were definitely a few heaters in there, and no blatantly bad songs (I'll admit, the Elton John sample on Kiss The Ring induced a mild pause moment, but it should be alright). Apart from whatever already leaked (all bangers), Canal Street, Catalina and 10 Bricks all sound official. The one Dre beat sounds like something he forgot to give Jay for Kingdom Come. Unless Catalina is another Dre joint. If it is, then nice one, Dre.

20. About Me 8/10
21. Mean Streets 7.5/10
22. Kiss the Ring 9.5/10
8.3 overall. very good IMO. not really a weak track in the bunch. all pretty good, with some bangers in there for sure.
however it lacked the banger after banger after banger ect. that CL1 brought.
obviously it was going to be impossible to live up to the first one. but it was defiantly a valiant effort. i love that theres no skits really, no club shit. just good hip hop.
some have been saying best wu album since Supreme Clientele, i wouldnt disagree with that.

I have to say, I'm a little uncomfortable with this version of New Wu, but only because my ears really got used to the original SOOOOs with the "weee" at the end. But other than that, the whole thing is next to perfect.
Not only do I agree that this is the best Wu album since Supreme Clientele, but I think it has some of the best Ghostface moments since that album. He kind of steals the show every time he pops up, even on the little skits and when he's just talking shit.

Deck is incredible on this. His flow never really has switched up, but he's always linked great bars together. Even Masta Killa, while a little underwhelming, does his thing. Moreso than a Masta Killa appearance in 95 would have.
I like the Dre tracks much more than I should.

I still think Meth's verse on New Wu is kind of hard to top. But Deck does his thing too.
This is the first rap album since Hell Hath No Fury where I've been able to just listen to it from front to back without skipping anything. Minus the intro. That Papa Wu shit should have been cut down to like 30 seconds or something. But everything else is marvelous.

The biggest mis-step on the album is the hook on "Catalina", really detracts from an otherwise great song.

That ain't cologne, it's the smell of this money...
I agree it's a low point, but my neck still seems to respond to that song every time it hears it.

yeah my chief complaint has been minor bits and pieces here and there. No solid songs I dislike.
I've also noticed that when I heard it, I liked it....but I didnt have the instant OMG ITS SO GOOD response I did with like...Fishscale. I think thats a positive thing though, because Fishscale lost replay about 2 weeks after it dropped. Most of my favorite albums of all time got a favorable response from me initially but took a good 2-4 weeks for me to really absorb how much I really liked it.
I've listed to it front to back 5 times since it came out, and I have really enjoyed it. The songs are perfect length, the albums production is consistent...there are no fillers, and every member of the Clan sounds as strong on this as they did in 1995.

Much appreciated! Cheers.
I agree with your previous statement. Ghost really shines on this record and steals the show. But, I thought the same thing on the original 'Purple Tape'.

It's alright. I wasn't really crazy about it at first, but it probably would have fit in well with the rest of the album. Here. (http://www.prefixmag.com/media/raekwon/criminology-2-ghostface/25531/)

Good looking out. It's not great, but 75% better than the duds on Blueprint 3.

Im gonna go ahead and submit this to the "best albums of the decade" after careful consideration. Granted, its a late contender but it has staying power.

Bought it for the pretty pictures.
Also bought BP3. Mainly because I'm a completist, but also because I'm hoping it'll grow on me.

Picked CLII up this morning...I didn't listen to many leaks...I wanted a virgin listening experience.
Very, very good shit...it definitely doesn't disappoint up against it's predecessor. Very little RZA, no U-God, and no track with Nas disappoint...but those are minor complaints. My favorite tracks were...
House Of Flying Daggers
Gihad
New Wu
10 Bricks
We Will Rob You
Nigga Me
Kiss The Ring
Busta and Styles P both kill it... (y)

I was kinda surprised that U-God wasn't on there considering every other member of the Clan is, and that Rae actually appeared on Dopium so it wouldn't have been a stretch to assume U-God would be on CLII. Struck me as odd.

yeah, picked it up today and saw.
I've also been slowly getting into CLII. At first I thought it wasn't my cup of tea, but I'm kinda coming around one song at a time.
